Haven’t had many bows to refinish lately so I have had time to work on a couple of my own. Not sure what year this is but just thought it was a pretty bow somewhere under that chipped and fading finish. I shot it a little seems pretty quick. How many out here have one? Let’s see it.

Put on a string made by Barry AKA Stilldub. Grabbed a few arrows I shoot out of other 50# bows. As you can see she is something sweet. With my 26” draw it is smooth as silk.

They are excellent bows. The earlier ones were all Zebrawood with I-beams, the 70's brought on the impregnated maple models like the OP's. I actually like the later models since I never grew that fond of zebrawood.

What's the serial number? Shakespeares are easy to date.

I have that exact same model. It’s a great little bow. My refinish job didn’t come out nearly as good as yours, but’s it’s usable again. It was also my first attempt at building tip overlays being as one was gone and the other lifting and broken. They look like crap but no biggie. I had little to nothing in it to begin with. After seeing how pretty yours came out, I’m kinda itching to do a nice gloss finish on it. Nice work!

Mine is 54”. I think that was the standard for that model. I did a little tuning today and was impressed with the speed and accuracy it has. Definitely going to see some time in the woods with me this season.

George is right 99.9% of the time, but I'm pretty sure the early Super Necedahs were Zebrawood with an I-beam of what they called "Laurel"- looks like Shedua to me. At least, that's what my catalog that introduced the Super Necedah says. I have one in 45#, and it is a very good shooting bow.
