I was gifted a dozen vintage Bear arrows and was wondering what year they were made? Still in original box and never shot. What does the “1032” stamped on the box mean? Any info would be appreciated.

Fred Bear PLus 3 Converta Point Arrows were made from 1971 to 1976. The 1032 is the series number. They were made by Easton and were coated in a hard-anodic film. Before 1975 you could get them with a cap dip ( crown ), 1975 and later there was no cap dip ( crown ).

I believe Easton used the same process as in making their X-7 arrows of that time and those were top of the Easton line. Awesome, durable arrows.

Nice, I was always told the old Bear arrows like these were Easton's X-7 alloy. I'd love to find some of the old Bear 308 Magnum's in 30-31 inch length.

Sweet! You don’t come across those everyday. How much were they new?

D.Lewis, at our local sporting good store back then they were $34.95 for an eight pack. Places like Robin Hood Archery, or Feline Archery had them a little cheaper but not all tht much.

That’s what is meant by the good ole days. Thanks George. When I see two or three wooden Bear arrows in an antique shop or yard sale I always grab them. Even if the fletching are shot. Sometimes I get really lucky and they have a Bear Greenie on the end.;)

Thanks guys, I shot a few of them last night and they fly great out of my 43# Widow. The feathers are in excellent condition considering they are 45 years old.

I don't own any of the vintage Bear Archery aluminum arrows. I do own quite a few of the vintage Bear Archery cedar arrows with the Bear ( Greenie ) Razorheads that I bought back in the 1970s. I'd like to get some of the aluminum ones also.

When KMart got out of archery in their sporting goods dept the store near me had the Metric Mag arrows on sale. I bought all of them, about 3 doz. I also bought the three and a half spring arm Bear bow quivers they had. But I wasn’t the only one aware of the close outs. I went around to three other stores I knew in San Diego area where I lived and all was gone. I think I have about a doz left but I had stripped the vanes and refletched.

Every time I see old Bear shafts no matter where I grab them if the price is right. These are few I reconditioned and shoot out of my 66 K mag.
Glad to hear your shooting them with you BW. Maybe save one for the wall as a display. Great find, Enjoy !
Best, Dave
