Firstly?...I guess I should mention that I chose this Memorial Day as my 1st day of returning to shooting a bow after a 2+ Month layoff for shoulder recuperation.

I sprayed the 1st couple groups like a diner plate shotgun pattern (as I felt my now cinched up muscles stretching out) and continued to do so where in an effort to find my form again?...I began drawing back to anchor with my eyes closed and feeling for my comfy spot and then opening my eyes and completing the shot and that's when it all came back to me.

What else came back to me was remembering what a blessing it was to try out Big Jim's Dark Timber arrows because with me shooting a very low DW of 32#@28" off my Wes Wallace Mentor?...it was pretty cool that I could both keep my GPP below 10gpp and?..wind up with well tuned and very forgiving arrows which was only possible due to the Dark Timbers being made available in whopping 32" long .700 spine which in turn?...allowed me to use ridiculously light 60gr screw-in points for an arrow weight of 314grs with?...3X5" Feathers! :)

From center of nock to end of carbon?...these .700 spine Dark Timbers measure 32 1/2"s with a FOC "Measurement B" of 19 1/2"s which gives me a 10& FOC and while that is low for FOC?...the leverage of the length of these arrows keep them flying straight and also?...(conscious or otherwise)...sure is a big help in lining things up. :)

The other advantage?...is the very low cost which tales a lot of pressure off when lining up on a long 3D shot through thick woods.

Hope you enjoyed and it's nice to be back.

Happy Memorial day, Bill. :)

Glad to have you back Jinkster!

I’m a big fan of the Dark Timbers. Like you said, the price is ridiculously low, while the quality, toughness, and looks are AOK.

Good for you to be back, Dark Timbers are great, price wise. Enjoy.

Glad you're back at it! I like the dark timbers for the same reasons you're valuing them and find them to be very tough shafts.

I've got the 700s and 400s as well. Love them.

I have them in 700,600, and 500. They have a great price/performance ratio. Another lightweight arrow is the Warrior 600. They are 5.9gpi and with 125's do well out of my BW PL 34@28 with my 27 inch draw.

JINKSTER!! Good to see you back in action and posting!! I’ve been eyeballing BIg Jim’s arrows, and this made me confident that I’ll pull the trigger on them soon. I have been suffering with tendinitis in my bow elbow for awhile now, and just got some Samick Discovery carbon/foam 35# limbs for my Satori to work on form. God Bless you Bill!

Hey Junks! Good to see you.

I'd agree that Dark Timbers are about as good a value as there is in carbon arrows as well.

Great hearing from you Bill and I am happy you are chucking arrows again. However, where is the video ? I always find you vids entertaining and worth watching.

I really like the dark timbers. I shoot the 600s I just wish the inserts and points were the same size as the shift diameter they are just a tad bigger and makes them catch when pulling out of a target.

From: Brian waters

Bob the solution i found is i used carbon tech .245 inserts. They taper down to the shaft perfectly.

I am looking for some of his original ones that were 33". New ones are 32". Need them in 800 spine!

Sipsey.. you should send an email to the office to see if we have some floating around. No promises though. I don't pack orders or really know where anything is at in there anymore. Clint would know if we did have a few. BigJim
