Kurt, I haven't heard a peep. Usually by now I would be getting organizational emails, but I've not yet. I'm not sure crowds of more than 10 people will be allowed all summer up here. Cross your fingers that this can be pulled off. I sure hope so.

From: Rocky
Date: 21-May-20

Hello Kurt,

The shoot has NOT been canceled but we're still under lockdown here in Michigan and we can't commit to anything until the Governor's many orders are lifted, revised or overturned by a court of law.

Chris, (Pearl), is correct, we would normally be rocking by now but we have had just very minimal conversations within our shoot committee to date as a result of the Governor's stay at home orders.

With that said, PRRC is holding out the possibility of having the 2020 Stickbow Shoot until the last possible minute. Pre-screening of attendees, social distancing and some reduced food services will most likely be required if we can pull it off. We know that time for attendee planning is getting short and we apologize for the uncertainty. I will keep everyone posted on this website weekly until a decision is made.

Take care Kurt.

Rocky

Thanks for the update.

She didn't however revoke the "SAH Order" and will most likely extend it beyond the 28th.

From: shamus275 Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 21-May-20

Agreed Rocky, I'm still going to go about life as usual despite what her unlawful say. I really hope the Elm Hall shoot does happen as the other big shoots in the State have already been cancelled. I've been trying to get to Compton for 5yrs in a row...maybe next year?

Not to totally change the subject but has anyone heard if the Barryton shoot is cancelled?

From: chamookman
Date: 22-May-20

Hope and Pray things let up and the Shoot can go as planned ! Best of Luck Rocky - Bob.

See you soon Kurt!

After careful consideration the Pine River Recreation Club has determined that the Elm Hall Stickbow Shoot scheduled for July 31, August 2 and August 3, 2020 will proceed as planned, with social distancing requirements and considerations in place. The State of Michigan has indicated that camping and overnight lodging reservations at State Parks and Recreation Areas can commence on June 22, 2020 for the general public and therefore camping on PRRC’s privately owned 135-acre property is appropriate, again with special considerations. DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU ARE SICK OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SOMEONE DIAGNOSED WITH OR SUSPECTED OF HAVING BEEN INFECTED WITH COVID-19 in the 14 days preceding the shoot. Participants are required to sign a waiver to register to participate in this shoot, acknowledging that as a knowing adult or parental guardian, the participant alone accepts all risks and responsibilities associated with Covid-19 as well as other risks that life as free Americans brings to all of us. Food and concessions: We are working to determine what level of FOOD service can be provided but everyone should plan to bring enough food so that you can be self-sufficient for the weekend. Updates will be posted as the event gets closer. In our experience traditional archers are great people! COOPERATION AND ADHERENCE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUESTED AND WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED BY PRRC AND OTHER ATTENDEES! WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE JULY 31, AUGUST 1 & 2, 2020 FOR THE 31ST ANNUAL STICKBOW SHOOT!

FYI- The Governor has lifted the Stay at Home order and has authorized groups of up to 100 for outdoor activities as long as they adhere to social distancing guidelines. Just read it on the MI.gov website. She will officially announce it at 3pm today.

Usually 2 ranges of about 40 or 50 total targets, several vendors and lots of tail gaters with some really cool stuff. Several novelites ,all of the above on ranges, anything from flat to swamp to sand to woods, a real mixture of terrain. Nice targets at mostly good hunting distance. Some longer and some shorter. Fun time for sure. Pappy

From: PEARL DRUMS

Damon, you dont need a fire ring or pit, and yes there is usually a good pile of wood to use.

Brad the camping area is wide open, so your crew will have no problem finding an area to fit. There is plenty of sun, but shade can be found as well.

Well it went way to quick, but my wife and I enjoyed every minute. We had a great time visiting with good friends that we haven’t seen in to long. We could only stay one night, but it was well worth the trip.

Was great to see everyone and meet a few new ones.

Glad you enjoyed it but to clarify, it's not "Rocky and the crew", (we have a great crew), I am just part of that crew.

Thanks to all that attended. It was great to see you all again!

Thanks again to all the crew that worked so hard to make this a success! The course set up was great and the food and hospitality second to none. See you next year Jim and Steve.
