I wonder how long it will be before they close this thread?

It seems like every time some one starts a thread about having a shoot it gets taken off.

From: Fritz
Date: 09-May-20

Threads get taken down because of people’s ignorant comments, hopefully this thread can stay positive but very doubtful !!!

Fritz, I agree. HH that’s a great looking old cabin!

Things look as though they might be looking up for June, let's keep our fingers crossed.

I would love to make that shoot one day before I'm too dang old. I really enjoyed the Pre Spring shoots in 13 and 15, but will be too busy here in Pa. in June. I wouldn't hesitate to go if we lived about six hours closer. Enjoy. PS we stayed in one of those cabins in 2015.

Never have been, but we lived in Michigan until last summer. Now living in Kentucky so it’s much more doable. Looks like a great venue. What’s the shooting distances like at this shoot?

James, when I set up my courses, I really try and put a lot of thought. Challenging, yet fun.

The longer shots normally are your larger targets, elk, African Lion, and such. The elk, for example, may be between 25 & 35 yards.

I like for folks to have fun, your top tier shooters are always going to do well, but those we like to get involved in our sport, don't like breaking or losing their arrows.

I don't like trash shots, basically having to shoot through a lot of branches. I like the wound and kill zones open, NOW, that doesn't mean you might not have to shoot between some narrowing of trees, like I said fun, yet challenging at times.

I firmly believe you'll have a blast

I’ll second Terry on this being a fun yet challenging shoot. My first year at the shoot they had a heat wave with temps running 104 for two days. Broke or lost nearly every arrow I had and said in my heart (first shoot I had every been to) one night after turning in to my sleeping bag sweating I’d never come back!

Been back for about 12-14 years now? Not sure exactly, but it is one of two shoots I try and make every year.

Was there in 2014 for the 10th anniversary, hotter than all get out and one hell of a storm ripped through on Saturday night destroying vendor tents and canopies.

From: THarris
Date: 13-May-20

I'm not sure Danny, but I do know you folks think it's really hot in Alabama in June, I was in Michigan for a Compton Rendezvous, 3rd weekend in June.

To me, that year it was hotter.

John, it hit over 100 for four days that year, hottest HH Classic we've had.

Everyone,

Point I’m making weather is fickle, can’t predict, but you can bet with the right attitude it will be fun!

Heard a man once say “you carry your on weather”. Attitudes folks, it makes the difference!

Terry was that the year that storm came through and blew down the main tent at Compton? I remember you were there one year and we got a chance to talk while hanging out with Fred Asbel.

From: THarris
Date: 13-May-20

I don't think so Jim, I didn't make it to Compton that year, thank goodness, LOL.

TOMORROW IS DECISION TIME FOLKS!!!

I'll be announcing whether or not to hold the 16th Howard Hill Classic on June 5th, 6th & 7th or wait until July 10th, 11th & 12th, 2020.
