Not nearly as bad as falling 20 ft from a ladder trying to cut a tree branch, and breaking ribs in 17 places, and fracturing 3 vertebrae at 72 years of age which I did 2 wks ago.Should of had the ladder tied off, and a safety harness on. One of those hasty things we do with out thinking, and in the spur of the moment.Pain is unbearable at times. Hunted out of trees for nearly 50 years with no problems, and always safety conscience.

Bassman, I have had ribs broken in 3 places and bruised others. That was painfully enough. I can't imagine the pain your in.

A selfbow tillered for 28" draw, drawn to 35"?....what do you expect?

Bassman, I fell about 14 ft from a treestand about 10 years ago and only broke 3 ribs, collarbone and fractured one vertebrae. Took about 2 years to recover 90% (you'll never be 100%) and I was 50 years old and in pretty good shape. I feel for you. Gonna be a long road. Good luck.

Bassman, It hurts just to hear your story. I hope your recovery goes well and you heal up quickly.

a 48yr old guy from work fell off his roof trying to clean some gutters he couldn't get to with the ladder he had and broke his back,,, never worked again after that........wish a fast recovery to you guys healing from a fall.

Darn Bass thats a terrible story but you live to tell about it. pray your healing physically and emotionally.

So you think the bow break is staged? How would they just happen to be under surveillance by camera if it wasn't staged?

Someone was taking a video of the shot...this is a single frame from that video. You could see the thing explode in slow motion.

Bassman...I am hoping you have a good recovery...sending some positive thoughts your way.
