Fred was right handed. Shooting a bow is all he did left handed. They say it was because of his accident but Fred, not being the type person to lay blame, always said he didn't know for sure why he shot as a lefty. That it was just the way he learned. He shot guns right as well as everything else.

I too am a southpaw! Might be a good thread to say I have some that I should thin out too!

I’m right handed and the only thing I do lefty is shoot a bow. Just how I learned very young and would guess it’s because I’m left eye dominant so it just felt “right”. Only downside is the limited availability of LH bows vs those awkward right handed ones people seem to like!

I do with I’d learned to shoot long guns LH, purely for when I bird hunt. I’m not famous and sure won’t be.

Like many. Right handed and switched to left hand 30’years ago because of left eye dominance. And didn’t like having to close my eye.

I was always ok Right handed. But got a hair better left handed.

I have a left master eye, so yes I shoot lefty.... Beginning of this year, was diagnosed with something, that has deteriorated, my ability, big time....

As I get more crippled, I will probably go to the xbow, and that will be the Excalibur,,,,

I can shoot bows but the weight I will be able to pull, for fun, at the shoots, will not be legal for hunting, or for that matter ethical

My bows are left handed that I shoot.

I now shoot lefty after fighting TP for many years, while shooting right handed. So far lefty is working well.

Right handed but shoot Bows and everything else lefthand.

I shoot both RH and LH. Does that count?

Left-handed in most things, shot lefty for 45 years, then eye dominance shifted L>R, shot RH for a year, now shoot both ways as the mood strikes. Famously noncommittal.

Lefty all the way. I'm lefthanded and left eye dominant. Only time it is a bummer is when looking for bows such as a John Shultz..very rare. :(

Lifelong leftie here. I'm not famous but I get a kick out of telling my little brother(56 years old) that I was mom's favorite and my dog thinks I'm the best thing since snausages :)

Born left handed, forced to right hand in the first grade, screwed me up my whole early life.

Left eye dominant thank God, because now all but blind in right eye due to retinal detachment several years ago.

So now after nearly a lifetime I am left handed again and have been kicking ass with it ever since.

Right-handed but shoot my bow left-handed.

I'm confused! I do many things right and left handed. I was likely one of the last ones told to "do it right handed like everyone else does it!" So I just learned to do things both ways. Probably helped me as an adult, although the other half says I still haven't grown up! Oh, and far from famous for sure!

I'm right handed because that the way I was taught to do everything. My uncle handed me a rifle when I was a kid and told me to hit the can. I did it left handed and since no one stopped me I still shoot long guns left handed. And I'm left eye dominant but it doesn't effect my bow shooting. Guess I was a want to be a lefty.

What hasn't this man done to promote the sport of archery during the past 40 years? In order to figure out that question, let's look at what he has done.

Don Brown the Archery Club member: Don began his life-long passion for archery in 1954 when he first started slinging arrows. He's been a member of the Riverside Archery Club since 1956. He's been a member of the CBH-SAA, the NFAA and the National Archery Association for the past 40 years. He's been a National Archery Association Flight Shooting Board Committee member since 1968. He's been given the position of International Flight Shooting Judge by FITA in 1999.

Don Brown the Hunter: He's taken countless big and small game animals, including fish, using only the Longbow. He is the holder of the NFAA Art Young Small Game Award. Deer, bear, javelin, wild boar, and sharks have all fallen to Don's broad head. Don once dropped a sheep at a witnessed and confirmed 160 yards.

Don Brown the Target shooter: He's established many high score records shooting very heavyweight longbows from 100 to 145 lbs., the scores of which, have never been surpassed in target, field, and novelty rounds. He's held the National Archery Association title of Flight Shooting Champion for fourteen years between 1968 though 1997.

Don Brown the World Record holder: Don holds numerous national and world records for long distance flight shooting with longbows and recurves. He is listed in the (Guinness Book of World Records for having shot an arrow with a 132- pound hand- held recurve bow, the record distance of 1336 yards, 1 foot, 3 inches. Don also holds the record for having shot the fastest arrow ever recorded out of a "stick" how, at a speed of 507 feet per second. He set the world flight record for longbows of 408 yards, 1 foot, 4 inches with a 130-pound longbow. Don Brown the Archery Ambassador: Don has performed difficult shooting shots for television commercials and has been a technical adviser and coach for movie and television personalities. He has toured the country performing archery exhibitions for the non-shooting public while promoting archery at sportsman's shows, fairs, schools, and clubs.

Don Brown the Bowyer: Don successfully marketed his own line of traditional archery bows and accessories under the company name of Don Brown Traditional Archery Productions of Riverside, CA. Right handed, shot righty couldn't hit anything, left eye dominant so switched, now I can hit some things but not many....

My wife is left handed and claims lefties are the only ones in their right minds. No comment I would not touch that one for all the tea in China. :-)
