What do we know about the author? Is he legit? Just looking at the article I wonder if he isn't crooked :))

Don't know about the author being legit or not but I know I bought a Bear Kodiak mag, factory camo with the bolt on quiver at a sale for $10.00, a Shakespeare recurve at a sale for a quarter, 25 cents and a couple Bear Kodiak Hunters for $25.00 each. I have bought several bows for $5.00 each. So it can be done.

Not so hard to believe, I've had eight or ten bows given to me and bought a couple of barrels full for under $20.00. I usually pass them on to someone who needs a bow.

Just read the authors name, now I know it's fake news.

My late dad would garage sale a but. I told hin to buy any recurve or longbow that wasnt broken and was under $25. I got as bunch of bows that weren't worth anymore than he paid but also got a 1960 Kodiak for $10 and a 1967 Wilson Brothers for $5

Good post James! In point of fact, I have been astounded at some of the bargains found at auctions on so many sporting goods. My employment, while part time, takes up my summer, so I have had to sit on the sidelines on many good deals. Well, this Covid19 thing sucks, but my summer job is probably gone. That means my job now will be going to some of these auctions. Yahoo!

...uuhh provided my wife is willing to put in a little overtime so I have some discretionary income.

Another thing I have found..some of the best bargains are at events allowing items not directly associated with the target crowd, ie. recurve bow and arrows at a gun show, or car show. Vintage outboard motors at an outdoor vintage tractor show, stuff like that.
