I've listened to all the hype for a couple years and finally bought a seat from David this winter. I've just got it in the field now with turkey season on. All I can say is what a great unique solid piece of hunting equipment. It's even more than I could have imagined. Quiet Well Engineered Quality of Materials Well Made And I haven't even mentioned how comfortable it is! I only wish I would have bought one when you guys first started talking about them and I could afford to buy one for all my kids!

Monkeyball told me to get one years ago and it was solid advice and a solid product. Strong, light and comfortable.

Worth every nickel. That pretty much sums it up. American made AND David is a fine individual to deal with.

I truly enjoy mine. It sees use for all hunting seasons to include on outings to my property. I even made foam camo pads from a two piece cushion for turkey hunting, and fashioned them to fit in for a seat, and back for late seasons for warmth. Throw in a 3 rivers haver sack, and you are set for any hunting adventure. I do not regret buying one.

All of the griping and complaining seems to come from the individuals who do not own one. I’ve never heard a bad review from people who own one. That says a lot.

Go mine this year after Craig previously mentioned it then others here also mentioned it. It was money well spent. Very comfortable. Adjustable. Packs in very nicely with or without your pack attached. Would work well for packing out meat if need be. If I would have bought this thing years ago I could have saved some money as I’ve bought many cheap ones and they are always noisy and uncomfortable.

I got one also this year. Next week will be my first time hunting from it but practicing with mine I think it’s gonna be great. Specially for turkey hunting.

Hunted with mine for several years. Very well made by a man who really cares about his product and his customers. If you want one for hunting season this fall you had better place your order now. David Waldrop is a one man operation. Each Waldrop Pac seat is made by David one seat at a time. Great guy, great product.

As a owner of a Pac-Seat there are some things for those on the fence to think about. Yes the Pac-Seat is expensive. However so is a well meade treestand. For those who are not used to hunting on the ground, and live life in the trees when it comes to hunting I have done it both ways. By egtting tucked in on the ground, breaking up your outline, and playing the wind success will happen. The Pac-Seat allows for much more mobility when hunting. Through the years I developed a saying when it comes to hunting--It came from getting sick, and tired of always looking for the right tree to use my climber, or my sticks, and a light weight hang on. Granted I still use stands, but not nearly as much anymore. My saying--Stop hunting for trees, and start hunting for deer. A Pac-Seat allows me extreme mobility, safety, and far more enjoyment of either packing in a climber, or my hang on with sticks. With a fleet of hang ons all over the place I too became a slave to those stands through the years--I wanted to hunt a stand, but the wind wasn't right, and the problems piled up. So--in my youth I hunted on the ground, and then into the trees I went. Now--I'm back on the ground most of the time because I got tired of always not finding the right tree at the right spot. Now I use brush built blinds, and other methods--I find a spot--I set up--either lean the Pac-Seat against a tree, or unfold the leg, and sit in some brush. I love hunting this way. It's far more safe, requires little if any set up time, and if the wind shifts--fold up--move, and hunt on. I wouldn't trade my Pac-Seat for any other chair, or stand out there these days.

If you think you might consider hunting from the ground in the future, it is a must have. Works great at the beach and outdoor concerts as well. Falling asleep in it is the only drawback I can come up with.

From: Verdeburl
Date: 24-Apr-20

I must admit I use mine with different types of weapons through various seasons. I was hooked after the first time using it. Tucked in some brush, up against a big ol' tree, and snug as bug in a rug. I had tried the hammock style seats, and yes theose are cozy, but too low for using my recurve bows. The Pac Seat is the bomb for my style of hunting.

From: Sawtooth (Original) Professional Bowhunters Society - Associate Member

I get it, I really do. $250 is a pretty good clip. And the seats aren’t for everybody. If a person is happy sitting on a five gallon bucket or wal Mart flip out stool then that’s wonderful. David is a pretty good friend of mine and contrary to what some may believe, he’s not building a vast financial empire by selling these seats. He builds them in his shop, one at a time, by himself. All sewing, drilling, bending, tying... you get it. And he does this in the evenings when he gets home from his real job. He loves bowhunting. Ground hunting is his passion. And the pacseat is his baby. He enjoys all of it immensely. And he enjoys seeing other folks being happy with these seats. BUY AMERICAN!!!! MADE IN USA!!!!! Well, here’s the perfect opportunity my friends- Columbus, GA. is seated firmly in the USA.

PLUS- the pacseat just outperforms all of its competition. Strong, light, COMFORTABLE, stable, quiet, sturdy, versatile.

It will not break or wear out. It will outlast the owner unless it gets lost or stolen or abused. That is all, carry on. :)

From: GBTG
Date: 05-May-20

What JusPassin said....... I had to save a little cash over a bunch of time to come up with the $280. With trepidation I sent the POMO but now I wish I could buy my kids all one. If my wife ever found out how much I spent on that chair well I'll be comfortable living in the back forty for the next year!

From: eddie c
Date: 05-May-20

I got one in a trade last year. I had to take a little extra lower back support but it works great. I made the mistake of going turkey hunting with my vest one morning and liked to not gotten up off the ground. Next trip I took the seat and was a lot more comfortable. And it weighs less than the vest.

From: Sawtooth (Original) Professional Bowhunters Society - Associate Member
Date: 05-May-20

Oh- I forgot. It’s not just a folding chair. It’s a system to pack out your game. Deer, elk, whatever. So it’s a packframe that you can sit comfortably on. Hence the name. And I realize that I’m younger than a lot of you gentlemen on here. And I know for a fact that I’m not as experienced as some of you. And it is entirely possible that I may be missing something, but I’ve never seen anybody pack out an elk on a fold out stool or five gallon bucket.

From: 1/2miledrag
Date: 05-May-20

For me it really is a piece of furniture. When not used hunting it is in the house. Sat on it christmas morning to watch kids open presents and sat on it for the entire super bowl...you get the picture.

From: PEARL DRUMS
Date: 05-May-20

He has several videos on his web site. Its worth a watch if you don't understand the chair or its market value.

From: Sandhiller87
Date: 05-May-20

Man. That's pretty slick. Might be replacing my little backpacking chair...

From: cut it out
Date: 05-May-20

It’s not just a chair remember. It’s the most comfortable chair on market and most versatile as a tree is not needed. It’s also a pack frame for hauling anything you can load on it too. Good pack frames start at $100 bucks. And again if you suffer from back problems like me it can’t be touched in comfort. Which makes the hunt that much better as I’m not fidgeting or getting restless. I have spent a lot more trying every chair out there when I should have nicked up and bought this and been done with I it once. I bet I have spent over $100 easily trying all the cheap stools and stuff out there. I can’t drag deer anymore with my back and hunt remote areas so need to pack them out. This allows for that and provides the most mobile easy and most comfort I have ever had. Reminds me of when lone wolf first came out. People couldn’t get past the cost. I agree these are expensive but it’s not just a chair. I love mine and would replace it in a heart beat if something happened to it. Just something to ponder.

From: cut it out
Date: 05-May-20

Also for hunting remote mountains a stand is not practical to jump around the mountains. This allows me to be mobile and pack out the animal in one super light set up. The width also allows sneaking through tight cover.

From: Smokedinpa
Date: 05-May-20

Let my buddy use mine today turkey hunting and he fell asleep!

From: Stan
Date: 05-May-20

I see the attraction for sure.. Thing is built like a tank.. I'm going to try the hammock seat this year.. It's just 1# 11oz. for $50. bucks.. I don't pack out game, so there is no need for that option either. Sure it's a bit costly but we all seem to work out those things if we want something bad enough...

From: Andy Man
Date: 05-May-20

Stan, I have the Hammock seat and it works fine -little more set up and confining but a EZ carry-but worked well for me

Ya'll should have bought one years ago when they were half that price or more but then some said they cost too much then. I've strapped my Double Bull blind on mine during turkey season and walk long ways before getting set up. Use it at my son's baseball games for many years. Great around the campfire while hunting or any other gathering. Those cheap chairs from Walmart and other places don't last long and you keep replacing them.

Sure does look comfortable, appears to handle the possibles bag well, as someone who suffered a T-12 compression fracture from a car wreck 33 yrs. ago that makes it hard sit in something small, I'm going to have to give this some consideration. Thanks for the input guys.

From: George D. Stout
Date: 14-Jun-20

Fellers, it's okay for someone not to join in the revalry and pile praises on something you seem to love beyond measure but they don't. It's also okay to think that $250.00 is too much to spend on a chair to carry around with you in the woods. "Well Worth the money" is a subjective statement at best and ony applies to the ones using them and affording them.....so be kind to those who think differently....they just think differently.

Actually, the best mobility comes from carrying nothing on your back, because then you don't have to sit down as much and can just go after a brief pause....or even more than brief pause. I love a good sit but not generally in bow season...I don't know why that is other than antsy'ism, so the seats I do have stay at home or in the vehicle. It's also why I don't own any tree stands anymore, I'mo both too lazy and too antsy.

I think I'm just afraid of not knowing what's beyond the next bend or next ridge, and I would probably drag more deer back to the truck if I sit longer. I'll keep an eye out for one at the flea market...if I can get it for twenty bucks, I may try it...but thats about all I have in my wallet at any one time. LOL.

From: Babysaph
Date: 14-Jun-20

You hit the nail on the head George.,my dad had the patience of Job. He said the longer he sat the closer he got go killing a deer. He was right and I never forgot that.

From: Smokedinpa
Date: 15-Jun-20

Why does a conversation about this seat always turn in a conversation about who is too cheap to own one. If they are too much money for you don’t buy it and let people who have actually owned one talk about it.

From: Gofish
Date: 15-Jun-20

David is getting a bunch of exposure for his seats. O yeah there the best I love mine

From: Babysaph
Date: 15-Jun-20

I got one coming too. Everyone has priorities.,being a dentist for over 35 years I saw some decisions people made over the years. They would actually have me extract a front tooth because they didn't think it was worth saving. But they would come in with $2000 worth of high dollars rims and tires for their truck. Must admit the truck looked good while they were riding down the road with that toothless smile flapping in the breeze.. To each his own.

From: DNG55
Date: 15-Jun-20

I don't own a Pac seat but I may order one. After 32 years of construction and back surgery it may be what I need

I was a fabricator for years and the price of light aluminum and magnesium alloy metals has gone up and the price for cutting drills and cut off blades are a lot more expensive than others for let's say mild Steele or even wood. After reading Dave's bio and understanding he is a one man show I can understand that after all the overhead and that means everything...right down to the insurance and even the electric bill. if he were to figure out (and I'm sure he has)how much he made per hour after all is said and done you guys may not complain as much.If you can't see spending that amount of cheddar on a well made, obviously well liked hunting seat then keeper movin.

Agree with babysaph... To each his own !

Best, Dave

I see thi thread has kind of taken on a new direction, but I as an owner of a Waldrop Pac Seat can say that I debated for a while whether, or not to get one. When we look at the cost of actual quality seats, and treestands none are cheap. Fact is god, and cheap do not come in the same box. The biggest factor that drew me to the Pac Seat is how versatile it is. I've hunted using it for several years throughout multiple weapons seasons, and doing an honest reflection on my purchase I have zero regrets. I also like the fact that I supported a small business man, and the seat is made with pride, and extreme quality, and attention to detail. I have killed multiple deer sitting in the seat with multiple weapons. Now that I have my Pac Seat, and a few years under my belt using it I can say without any exaggeration, and bull pucky that it is one of the best hunting tools I have ever spent money on.

From: Supernaut
Date: 16-Jun-20

I've looked at the Waldrop Pac Seat's website, read the owner's bio, listened to testimony from folks here who's opinions I value such as Dendy (Sawtooth original) and have come to the conclusion that I will more than likely be ordering one in the near future. I like to be comfy when I hunt and just got a new Lone Wolf climber so the seat seems like a solid, long term investment for me. I enjoy hunting from the ground as much as I do from a tree and have found that the longer I can sit still in comfort the better my odds are for success. YMMV.

The wedding dress above would be great snow camo but seeing as how it isn't plaid, the Trad Police may issue a citation ;)

If Mr. Waldrop is making the seats as fast as he can and still has a waiting list, we're lucky they aren't twice the price. It's called capitalism. It cost a $100 an hour to have your vehicle worked on, it's the cost of labor these days and people have always griped about the cost of things. Nobody is forcing anybody to buy a pack seat, don't want one, can't afford one, don't get one.

By the way, I'd love to own a pack seat, looks/sounds like a wonderful, well built product, but right now, I'd rather keep the $'s in my pocket. It's the USA, you get to make your choice too.

I'm glad to see you guys are happy and impressed with your PacSeats, cause mine's in line and should be getting it next month. I like your camo job old buck and nice shooting! Maybe my grouping will improve with my seat, lol!

I guess I might as well chime in. It's a lot of money, no doubt. I always do my research on spendy items before I buy. I haven't had the opportunity to hunt with mine, but I have had it out in the yard, and I'm very much looking forward to hunting with it this fall. As long as I'm comfortable, I can sit for hours. I never found that sort of comfort in a tree stand.

Got my order placed, been looking at them a long time and decided to get one since I seem to always be looking for a comfortable place to sit when I’m hunting
