Doesn't look great, but not near as bad as it has been. Wet, if it stays ABOVE freezing is good driving for this show.

Thursday Night - A chance of rain and snow showers before 11pm, then a chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 31.

Friday - A chance of snow showers before 11am, then rain and snow showers likely between 11am and 3pm, then rain showers likely after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 39.

Friday Night - Rain and snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 33.

Saturday - A chance of rain and snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 39.

Saturday Night - A chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 30.

Sunday - Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39.

Don't look too bad, I'm driving up Thursday to visit with an old Marine and Vietnam buddy. We met in 1967 in aviation school. See you at the Expo!!

We got about 5 to 6 inches of snow over the past weekend. Before that the ground was bare. What we get in the next few days before the expo probably won’t amount to much. Shouldn’t be any problems driving in the area.

Michigan weather is always a crap shoot. I have gone in white outs and black ice on the roadways. One time me and a buddy stopped to render aid to some college students who rolled over the jeep they were in while driving on black ice. BUT I have away's made it safe and sound.

You won't regret it once you are there. Your wallet might tho,lol

Sorry to say as much as I love archery and as big a part of my life as it is I'm never risking my neck to go to any event. I'd think the organizers would realize how much bigger turnout they could get if they held it during a reasonable time of the year.

Only show in town at this time. Long running event, it seems to be successful, eh? The I-94 corridor can turn treacherous quickly. I hope you all travel safely.

It's only a 3 hour drive for me. Have made the trip up there at least a dozen times and it's always a great time. Spend lots of $, always good deals to be had, great folks, made lots of new friends, great seminars and oh yeah, get to try out all those bows! But too many times I have had white-knuckle driving on the trip back home. A couple times a 3 hour drive turned into 9-11 hours, blizzards from the lake effect snow. And other times black ice, spin outs everywhere and huge miles long backups.

I plan on going every year but, anymore, if there's just a hint of bad weather, I won't go. Not taking chances especially with kids and grandkids with me. I've heard all the reasons for having the show in January...but man, why not March...not much going on then is there?

From: Northener

Been there 3 times, 2 out of 3 was bad weather. Will not go anymore.

In the 25 or so years of the Kalamazoo show I have only missed one, maybe two. My drive is about 3 hrs. I can only remember two that were really bad. Yes, many had crappy driving conditions, but it’s Michigan in the winter. This year actually looks to be good right now. As it gets closer the we’ll get a better idea, but rain above freezing is no issue. Actually even at freezing or little below is fine. Salt works great at that temp.

Compared to the usual winter weather in this area, this season has been pretty tame. Forecast for the next week doesn’t look any different.

Looks like a great forecast! It is Michigan. We have an hour drive everyday from home and that will be easy. Come on out and have a great weekend!!!

From: SteveBNY

I actually thought it looked pretty good. Enough so I am doing the 9 to 10 hour drive.

Forecast looks great.

Last year it was freezing, several inches of snow, and whiteout conditions.

Upper 30's for highs Friday through Sunday? That's golden.

I have indeed seen poor weather for this event but that is Michigan. This year however will be fine. Planning on being there 4 days with several 2.5 hr trips pending set up. Then settling in to the hotel for the w/e. Should be fine. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!

From: ottertails

If that forecast holds, I might make the trip on Sunday. Fingers crossed! :)

I’ll be there!

I'm not worrying about it. My wife and I have a 6.5 hour drive and we can't wait. Be safe everyone!

You will not know the weather untill on the road. Weather predictions are way off, even more so days in advance.

It’s always a coin toss as far as the Kalamazoo Expo goes. Mich is one of the states subject to lake effect snow, especially for those of us going there from Chicagoland. It’s been brutal more than once.

I won't make it this year. Work related, not weather. My wallet will appreciate that !

From: elknailer Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

45 min from St. Joe Mi, so what if it takes an hrs and a half!

No weather is keeping me from Kzoo! I’ll be there with a big smile on my face!

I was there 4 times. I flew twice and drove twice I would never drive again . Black ice once and blizzard once, another time heavy snow. When flying flights were cancelled and I had to stay an extra day. It wasn't worth it for me . One weekend out of 4 there was beautiful weather .

From: Clydebow

I went last year. It was could and snowy. Didn't have to drive. Road with a couple friends.

Hadn't been there since 2012 when my wife bought a new Kia Soul. She said "Let's take the new car instead of your 4 wheel drive pickup! It's better on gas! The weather looks ok!" Yeah right! Snow, cold, and ice! I told her we will never take a car on another trip anywhere at any time!

From: Caughtandhobble

Weather is always a gamble when planning ahead... I always have preferred dressing for cold over the heat. Don't get me wrong I like the heat too :)

One of these days I am going to make Kalamazoo, Lord willing.

Have a 3.5 hr drive , leaving 6 a.m. . Been trying to get there for years something always comes up , not this year.

A bit drizzly this morning. The thermometer on our deck says 35 degrees and I'm in Battle Creek, about 30min away from the expo. Not a fan of I94 over here in the winter with only 2 Lanes and tons of Semi traffic.

I just had new tires put on my suv. I’m playing it as safe as I can. I drove there a few times with a RWD car. Never again.

So true if they had it in summer I would make a overseas trip just for that

There's to many other big trad shows in the summer. This is a one of a kind show as its indoors. Here in MI there is a bunch of outdoor trad shows. I'm sure that has somthing to do with it.

So many positives about this event, except the time of year, which makes it attractive since there are no other events in January and February in the north, and for good reason. Planes, trains and automobiles don't travel on time that way BECAUSE of the weather! Otherwise I would go!! TLM
