My wasp has a 3/4in difference in tiller,7 bottom 7 3/4 top mid limb. Can this be corrected by sanding the bottom limb.thoughts on this

id like to know this type of info myself.

i have an old recurve that is similar to what you describe.

I believe it is intentional because the arrow is not placed in the center of the bow. It's usually 1/8" to 3/8" difference.

Stump thats what im thinking,1/4in would be good but i got 3/4in

Yes it can be brought back some maybe not all the way. My bowyer friend brought my hunter back about 3/8”. It didn’t take much time for him. Was perfect the first try, but he said that was just luck. LOL

2 bears can do it for you. PM him. It requires sanding the belly of the bottom limb.

My Browning Wasp is a postive 3/8".

I’d think twice about doing any limb alterations on a Browning Wasp. It has “Full working limbs, and a “Full Center Shot” 4 1/2” sight window. I had 4 Wasps at one time, plus a Wasp hunting set. They are an exceptional recurve, imho. Have some one draw yours to 28” and view it from the side. It looks a lot like a Mongolian horse bow. They’re a special 56” bow designed for quick moves when hunting. Not My Picture

That is excessive but can be brought back. You will lose draw weight though. How much depends on weight to begin with and how long the limbs are and of course how far you want it reduced. To 3/8 or typical of most bows around 1/8 positive. >>>------> Ken

How does the bow shoot? If the bow shoots well leave it alone.

Tiller is like brace height, it's just a number. If the bow shoots well, the number doesn't matter.

2bears can the limb be sanded on the sides or just the belly? bow is 45#&28 56in, fdp bow shoots pretty good as is so just weighing my options here

I don't know the tiller of my Wasp, but I really like the way it shoots.

"bow shoots pretty good as is so just weighing my options here..."

Is not shooting pretty good the best option?

Or does that old tweek fever got you?

I shot my 45lb Wasp last Monday at our club. Very smooth shooting and the quietest recurve I have when shooting without silencers. Fast too.

I made a mistake selling two of all the Wasps I had.

two strings your a little correct, tweekfever /cabin fever go together

A friend has a Wasp in good shape but no string. I am going to twist up a B50 string Flemish style.

Since it is a 56” bow will a 52 1/2 be about right ? Been around 10 years since I made a string.

Sami 52 1/2 would be correct

Did Harry Drake design the Wasp?I have one and it's probably the fastest and smoothest bow that I have. It's right up there with my Explorer 1 and Cobra 11.Very impressive considering it was their entry level hunting bow.
