I've used tape, but have had some wacky feathers after I popped them out of my jig. I like the water-based finish for over my caps/cresting, no smears and low odor. I need all the brain cells I have left ;)
So what glue are you guys using that works good? Super glue and I don't get along that well, but I suppose I could try it again if that's the consensus.

I use Saunders NPV glue over Waterbased polycrillic. I usually buy plain wraps then crest them to my liking. Then I use a foam brush to apply a thin coat of finish. Usually two coats, thin is the key word here. Been doing this way for a number of years now. I am going to experiment withe the Polycrillic and Fletch Tite. I have seen recently Bohning is marketing waterbased paints. It would seem to me their glue should work on that paint/finish as well. Never tried Ducco over waterbased finish. Didn’t have the best of luck with the E6000 either. Maybe your tape is old? I have used tape over the Poly for repair with no issues yet.

Thanks guys! I'll probably try the Duco. I have a tube of the Platinum Bohning stuff, wasn't sure if it would be compatible. I tried the E6000 before, seemed more like a contact cement, but I know some people use it for fletching.
The tape works fine, just once in a while a feather will be a little outta wack. Probably operator error. Thanks again!

I've had Fletch Tite Platinum fall off every arrow material made. Wood, aluminum, fiberglass, carbon, all of them. The fact thatn many people don't have an issue with it really makes me wonder if the product has a limited shelf life and the dealers that some of us use have old stock that has passed it's useful age.

I've used it for years on nocks and it's been fine, but after that bad batch a while back I always have it in the back of my mind that it may fail. So far, no problems with nocks but I had a few feathers come loose on some capped aluminums. Could have been the paint itself not sticking that well, the only prep I did before capping was cleaning with alcohol. Dunno?
