Just curious. What is the oldest bow you have taken game with. Last year I was unsuccessful in my quest to take a deer with my birth year bow. The bow I used last year (1968 Kodiak Hunter) was 50 years old. This year I am using a West Bow Hunter that I think was made in the early 60's? So far, no luck.

'90 Howatt Hunter, bought new.

It would be fun to get a deer with the '67 Thunderbird, but I'm going to have to figure out how to quiet it down first.

All of my recurves are vintage, mostly Roots and Bears from the 50's, and I had a few of them out last deer season. The '56 Kodiak is the oldest one to harvest a deer so far, got a buck last December. I did give my longbow a break a couple weeks ago and brought out the '55 Kodiak for a spot on the ground that was too tight for a longer bow. Nearly got a chance at a buck with it, but the cloak of darkness arrived before the buck offered a shot. I have no reservations or regrets about taking the older bows out for another walk in the woods!

67 Wing Thunderbird. Mine is quiet and one of the best shooting bows I've ever had. Killed turkeys and deer with it. Funny the last one I bought I got pretty reasonable, he said he couldn't get it to quiet down.

Shot a turkey and some fish with my Bear 76'r a few years ago. Been wanting to deer hunt with it too, especially this year since my freezer is actually full already for once, shot a cow moose in September, so I'm not so desperate for meat that I don't mind limiting myself a little on performance. But for the life of me I can't get an arrow to fly clean off that bow now!
