How about a picture thread of scenes from your hunts so far this year. I'll share a few and would love to see what others experienced on theirs.
My hunt was last week in NE VT. This is about 2.5 miles from the road on an oil pipeline running through state land. Distant mountains are in NH.

Along this water were signs of an old homestead. Came across a piece of iron sticking out of the leaves and a bit of probing produced these remains of a cart or trailer. No wood found but long bolts with nuts on most pieces. One appears to be a hitch with a solid 1.5" diameter 12" long pin.

Purty steam smells of fish to me. Your changing color pretty good. We are slow this year in our bush.
Nice pictures looks like some woodcock bush too out in those fields.

This is one of my stands in Central Mississippi. It is a Hardwood bottom, which is becoming hard to find in Mississippi due to the forestry industry. Forestry and Poultry are always back and forth as to which one brings in the most money for the state. Most of Mississippi is pine plantation or cutover land.
This is a beautiful hardwood bottom that I enjoy hunting.

Had a lone jake approach along the edge to about where the tip is, until he spotted me at draw ready. I had the wrong color camo on for corn, so he turned around and walked away. I loosed and just barely missed him to wide left abut an inch. And I lost my arrow in that grass. It was a successful hunt, but not shot. Still, a magical morning hunt - Divine color. The sunrise lasted over an hour.

Stood in the weeds on the edge of willows and a cattail swamp/creek, near the Willow in the upper left (there is a guys tree stand in it), and waited. Just after sundown a small spike showed up. He saw movement but didn't bolt. He tried winding me, but couldn't, I was across too far. He nosed around for about 10 minutes at 20 yards but I wasn't going to shoot him anyway. He finally moved past and in front of me, upwind, occasionally looking back at me. Had a few marginal broadside opportunities, but he was just a little pencil spike x fork with a small body. I think its the same deer I saw by the dead buck I found last Sunday.
