Pine hollow longbows was selling hickory shafts

Brad, do you want premade shafts, or are you going to dowel them out yourself?

looking for shafts, as I've never done the doweling thing. I'm shooting 40 - 45# bows and I'm not sure what spine I need. Thanks

Spine is pretty easy. Actual draw weight, head weight, arrow length, string type, centershot.

As mentioned, Pine Hollow has Hickory. Not sure who has Birch.

Brad don't know about birch, but I've been using German spruce shafts from Bearpaw lately and love 'em! Lancaster Archery is one shop I know for sure carries them over there. JayInOz

I got to looking around for Birch sgfts after this was posted. The only suppliers that I found were in Europe. The shafts seem to all be 3/8" (Warbow stuff I suspect) so you would likely have to turn them down to spine.

Mike at Pine Hollow has hickory in 11/32 and 5/16 for your bow.

Great thanks folks. By the way... what is your fav arrow wood... I don't like roving with my cedars and zwicky judos, seems every time i hit someth8ng solid, I lose my judo...

The hickory that you are wanting will take a lot of abuse. Ramin is pretty tough also but it’s gotten to be almost impossible to find.

I like Oak.

Hickory is my favorite. I grabbed several dozen years ago when Allegheny Mt. was selling them and it's so tough that I haven't even used half of them.

I cut ash on my property back in MI. Straight grain and strong for roving. John
