I know, I'm a dunderhead at times. Anyway, Doctor says my triglycerides are a bit elevated. Who knew....I thought triglycerides were something you used for constipation; wow, was I wrong. Anyway, what better way to lower them than to get some serious exercise. Took about a two and a half hour stint in the local State Game Lands. A few pics to follow.

Another stump up yonder. These were not long shots. The photos always make them look a lot further.

This one actually bounced backwards when it hit. I posed it at the spot.

Nice. Makes me itchy to get out to 'my' game lands too. Like where you are George, it's brutal here today, hot and muggy. I got the grass mowed this morning, put bark mulch around the blueberries and fruit trees, then spent a few hours inletting a lock into a Pa longrifle. I'm hoping to go fling a few right before dark when it cools down a little... relatively speaking. Glad you got out to shoot and roam the woods a bit this morning. The summer is waning now, growing season has peaked. Won't be long until it cools down and another autumn will be upon us.

Two-thirds of the way up Wills Mountain, we're on the bench just ahead. Some of the beautiful 10,800 acres of SGL 48 near my home...about three miles via the road.

Mosquitoes, Kant’s, ticks, ? Did they get you, if not your lucky to enjoy your time out, thanks for the picture outing, George. P.S. may be missed the R. Or C. Snakes

Bet you sweated some of those pesky Triglycorides out of your system. I stayed on the back porch in the shade all morning.

Wayne, I doped-up with Deet before heading out. Back at the truck is when you check for critters, but so far today it's all good. The mosquitoes were worse than anything but mostly just the buzzing around my face...no bites. Came home and took a shower so I feel almost human now. It was probably ten degrees cooler under the canopy so it wasn't all that bad.

I headed out about an hour ago, was going to go to the game lands. But when I walked outside, I saw an ominous black cloud approaching. The game lands is literally within arrow shot from a sportsman's club I belong to, both just two minutes to the west of home. I got to shoot about a dozen shots at the club before the sky couldn't hold it any longer. It's pouring now. No stumps today.

Sending the rain your way, George.

Good grief George, where is your under-story. The timber around me is so thick with nettles and brush you couldn't see a stump 10 feet away.

Great looking woods George. Exercise is the key,to lower those triglycerides and diet. So my doc tells me too. Thanks for doing all the work/exercise for me, lol. TY George. JF

Hi Bruce. We have it in a lot of places I frequent, but this particular area is pretty clear down low toward the field. Up on the bench it gets thick but still not so bad.

If you come up early, you can come over to Ricketts Glenn State Park and visit us at the cabin and we'll have lots of eats there. ;) Just have to know ahead of time since the cell service is nonexistent on that giant plateau.

Thanks for sharing your rove George! It's always nice to see different parts of the country. My son, grandsons and I hung 17 stands over the weekend on my Wisconsin property. Zero mosquitoes! It's great to have some strong help this time of the year!

Now, I need to concentrate on Iowa.

Bernie
