bought a older green kmag with a blemish on its shelf. put in the classifieds for $100. if memory serves me right. also in the trade n swap... not one enquiry. so better get it at a good price. sold it to a friend for $50. wish Id kept it now. shot fine and don't have a 52" bow now.

What was blem on yours? Just cosmetic? I'm more worried about it staying together than cosmetic.

I bought a blemished 60" Bear Super Kodiak from Big Jim. If you could find a blemish on it I would give you a dollar. It is in perfect condition and shoots excellent.

Dad. I assume you are talking to me, if not. I apologize. the kmag was an old bow. if it was going to blow it should have blown years ago. the blem was on the shelf, it looked like a cuter on the shaping machine droped and chunked a 1\4" nick on it about 1\8" deep. it was written on to mark it and was finished over with original finish. absalutly no strutual problem. no cracks or splits. I would say cosmetic, but still a pretty good ding in a place covered by the bear hair. ive had 3 delams all were on new bows. they showed no sighn they were about to give it up! buyer beware! hope this helps.

Blemishes are cosmetic. They won't sell bows that have any kind of damage to the bow itself. My first Bear Takedown was a Blem riser and limbs I got in 1980'ish. Never had an issue.

Gluetrap I don't talk about anyone, thats just me. I look for peoples experiances. Some are good some not so good. I do Thank people for sharring them. I Thank you for sharing yours!

What George D. said. Bear isn't going to sell a bow that isn't structurally sound and neither is anyone else. They are still responsible for it.

I am just as happy to get a new bow with a blemish already on it...because it never took me long to put one there anyways. Most of the so-called "blemished" bows are, as above, ones that most reasonable people would look and if they found it at all they wouldn't give it a second thought. None are something you will have to worry about structural wise. Make no mistake, they are all sound and will last as long as any other new bow should.

Don't know if it's true but I was always told that the reason some bows from Bear had factory camo were because of minor blemishes in the original finish. I have a Bear Kodiak with factory camo I bought new in 1987, and no problems with it.

No use referring to Big Jim as a dealer on this site. He's too big for us to miss. And he seeks the attention.

its a good buy just dont expect Bear to warranty/replace it

sammyg, Bear wouldn't, nor would any company sell a bow that wasn't structurally sound, that would be a liability nightmare. Just think a little about that. They were and are just blemish issues, maybe a bad paint job, a scratch or other non fatal anomaly.

As several others have stated the blem is cosmetic only, however Bear will not give any warrantee on a blem bow. Big Jim sell blem Bear bows and does give a limited warrantee.
