Is there something I could add to my aluminum inserts to add some weight so I can shoot all these 125 grain broadheads?

If the back of the insert is threaded you can. I have used screws I cut the heads off of. I put plumbers tape on threads so they don’t get loose. Glue can get in places you don’t want. They also sell weights that screw into back of inserts. I took an insert to hardware store to match up threads, then bought a bag.

??? 125 grains are the basic starting point. With the right spine, 125 grain points will give you all you need with the standard inserts. So don't really understand your question. 125s are all I ever shoot.

PDP weights work with threaded inserts. Available in 10 and 20 gn adapters with additional weight available. I use a total of 100 gns additional weight. That means I use a 10 gn adapter and 3 30 gns weights.

Why on earth do you want to do that JR?

The PDP weights work as well as Gold tip weights(if still available)

You don't need to buy special inserts. Take an 8-32 tap and just run it straight through you insert.

Here are three different factory weight systems and an insert I ran a tap through with one type installed

I have also cast my own lead weights that fit inside tightly (+hot glue) and I have used bullets for reloading with hot glue behind the insert.

You have a lot of options.

To shoot some arrows that are a little stiff without going away from all the 125 grain stuff I have.

I have used .22 bullets glued in place. They fit well, and weigh 40 grains apiece. Most everybody has a 22 of some kind, so the weights are essentially free.

If you add weight you will weaken the spine of the arrow. If those 125gr broadheads are glue on. Using a short aluminum adapter in them, will make them around 150gr, so use a 145gr field point to practice and tune with. If you use the long aluminum adapter in them, it will make them weigh 170gr, so use 175gr field points to practice and tune with. DANNY

I was looking for maybe adding weight to the insert. That weigh I just screw on the 125 field tip or broad head

JR, some good suggestions above. And contrary to what some may tell you, you can effectively alter spine with tip weight on aluminum as you can carbon. A few years ago I had acquired a few 2314 arrows that were pretty stiff for anything I had which was 55#. I screwed-on some 250 grain field tips and they flew perfect from that Jeffery takedown bow.
