Well if it makes you feel any better, I drew a cow moose tag here in Colorado!

I applied in NH for 21 years straight and never got drawn. My father was drawn twice though. I stopped applying after 2012 and decided to give it a shot this year.... fingers crossed.

6 years??? What's your problem? After 24, I drew a bull tag in CO this year. I've been having trouble sleeping and it's only June.

Do you fellows in the USA have to purchase a permit to apply to the draw? If so, how much? In Ontario, we have to pay to apply for the moose draw. I think it’s around $55.00 this year to apply. No chance in He!! Of getting a tag. It’s all about the MONEY eh!!!!!

Okay, now I’m going to make you cry. I just drew my fourth Idaho bull moose tag!. It is my absolute most favorite hunt. The unit is 45 minutes from my driveway and three months long. I’m 70 and my goal is to draw twice more before I cash it all in.

My family says I have way too much fun out there to ever put an arrow in one. I’ve called in several, been false charged at 12 yards, let small bulls walk, and had a dandy old bull grunted “right there” only to have the cow he was herding bolt and pull him out of there two steps short of meat in the freezer.

Few things get much better in this life than a moose tag in the pocket, a crisp fall morning, and a little cow talk at sunrise. Keep trying, it is worth it!

My buddy in New Hampshire applied for about 20 years and throughout that time I would’ve been his partner. Supposedly your chances get better every year but he eventually just stopped. I would only hunt moose with a bow and I can no longer pull a 60 pound bow (which I believe is the minimum poundage for moose in New Hampshire) so moose is no longer a hunt I can do.

Bearfootin, There are very few things in this world that aren't about money.

We do pay for preference points or applications. Every state is different. CO use to be 10-12 a point, but it's changed now. It may be 9 bucks, but you need to buy a hunting license. In KS I just had a warden tell me when I asked him if I need a hunting license to apply as a nonresident, "What the heck would you need a license for if you don't draw".

Every state is different. To tell you the truth, I'm not even sure what CO is now and I've been applying over 30 years there.

You guys have my sympathy for sure. I've been north of the border something like 17 or 18 times to hunt moose and/or caribou. I'm the kind of guy who would probably die before I got lucky enough to draw a western state tag.

im with the warden on the license buying nonsense for non residents. that said maine doesnt require you to buy one. and i didnt draw either in maine or co as usual.

We see moose here in Massachusetts and I know for a fact that three have been road-killed in this area since Easter Sunday. But I'll be long gone before they even consider a hunting season...

Bear tags are OTC and we have plenty of nice ones.

We put in for 20 years but if you draw it is really worth it. What a beautiful and exciting animal to hunt.

Jason D, The min draw weight was changed to 50 pounds a few years ago in NH.

Took 22 years in Mn before we drew. 4 people on a tag. Done for life. Brother shot the biggest bull killed that year. Arrowchucker

I put in for 17 years straight when I was a resident without drawing a tag. Gave up on it

No season in Pa., buy I've seen some shopping at Walmart on occasion. At least I think so. I don't even apply for an elk lottery here so won't be chasing any moose in this lifetime. Good luck to all you guys I love to see other folks cashing in on those permits.

Years ago, it was easier to get a moose tag in Canada. Is it still that way? I think there should be a trad archery only moose drawing for the the Boundary Waters, they could issue more tags and possibly even have the chance of doing it more than once in a lifetime. I know, i can hear the wa wa's 'What about us gun people? Not fare." The gun people could learn how to be trad bowhunters, maybe not, that would require skill and ambition.

Today was the drawing for NH. No go for me as usual.....

My choice is Idaho moose. No luck again this year but it’s fun waiting for the draw results to be posted.
