Today I strung up my 50lb Paul Bunyan model 100 with a new D97 string from Len Emmen, who advertises in Traditional Bowhunter mag. Endless string with small loops. Both 2016"s and 1916"s as well as some 1918's I have, loaded with 145 grain points flew well. Nock is 3/8 above 0. Draw is smooth with very little handshock. Quiet as a church mouse. Has that cool 50"s look everybody seeks. Light in hand. A good companion for this fall. Below it await a quiver full of barred friends.

Wanted to add, In my opinion this model glass bow is a high water mark in their development. Bow is graceful with a nice limb taper. The leather wrapped handle on s tight and well thought out. Use a bowstringer always.

I have a 40 lb Stemmler, and my son has a 45 lb. Pual Bunyan. We have a lot of fun shooting those bows. Brings me back to the late 50,s when brothers were shooting them on a regular basis.

Not sure who this one is made by. It has built in brush nocks and a very slim handle. Pulls about 45- 50#. With a fast flight string and string mufflers its a pure joy to shoot!

Nice bow Scott. Right now you can pick these sweet shooters up for a good price. And they are just plain fun to shoot. Just like everything else the price will go up. Get while the getting is good. Ever hear that before? ;-)

Those all glass bows got a lot of folks into archery that may not have been in the sport otherwise. Some of us didn't have money to throw around on brand names back in the day. It was those cheap bows that got folks into laminated recurves and longbows later on. And it's a rich part of our history as well. Snide remarks are more a reflection on you than the bow Steve.

My dad bought me a Ben Pearson green swirl 35lb longbow kit when I was 12. 3 or 4 arrows, tab, and arm gaurd, gave it to a neighbor kid later. Found one like it last year, still fun to shoot it.

My first bow. A 1969 45# Bear Green Fox all fiberglass bow. My Dad bought me the Bear Green Fox Bowhunting Set in 1969. It came with the bow, slip on quiver, arm guard, tab, four arrows with Bear razorheads, and a target. I still own the bow.

Glass bows. I told myself to just keep walking whenever I saw one at a flea market, rummage sale, etc. There just isn't any more room in the basement. Yet, some of those bows were $15 dollars! When I think of all the Outdoor fun I had with one as a kid..... and some of the cool minty/forest green glass with an Indian decal really were pretty cool.
