What is the year of manufacture for my 60" Kodiak Hunter serial #K727104, aluminum flush mounted medallion? Thank you.

Thanks. My guess was 1970 but I thought it curious this bow has no accessory insert. I don't believe I've ever seen a Kodiak Hunter without an accessory insert.

I agree with 1970.

I have a lefty ‘71 that my nephew borrowed year before last and I may never see it again. He shot iit in the yard a few times and was enjoying it so much I told him to take it home. He wants his first bow kill to be with that bow.

They are great shooters!

Referencing the Bear catalogs from 70-71-72. Arctic gray glass on all 3 - they turn greenish when the clear coat yellows. 70 - Pau Ferro and Bubinga 71 & 72 Shedua and Bubinga.

I believe your orangey wood is Bubinga and your dark brown is Pau Ferro = 1970.

The only other detail that might help with year is that certain years had the model name silkscreened on the back, some on the belly.

That really is a nice one. One of the nicest I've seen.

Yep the 1970 had no stabilizer/reel hole unless you special ordered it.

My first laminated bow was a Hunter I bought in March of 1970. Always figured it was a 70 model, but it doesn't have the stripe and has a one piece riser? Will have to try to look at it tomorrow and check numbers. It has the insert, but the guy told me it was extra, paid $52 and would have been $48 for a bow without the insert.

My Kodiak Hunter just above has the number 9T116 and has a gold colored flush mounted medallion. Does the 9 make it a 69 model?

Thanks Steve. Always figured it was a '70, guess he sold me some of "last years" inventory when I bought it in March of '70?

Greg ,actually I always preffered the '69 model! I have 1/2 doz of them, left and right handed in various poundages! Still have the one I bought new in 1969!

Yes, no complaints here. Hell, it took me almost 50 years to realize it, so couldn't have bothered me too much and I like the solid chunk of what looks like a variety of rosewood.

arlone, Tigerwood according to 69 catalog.
