Has anyone seen the new Robin Hood movie.

I actually just watched it last night. It's not your traditional "robin hood movie". I would have liked it better if it wasn't called robin hood. Lol i did enjoy it for what it was. A movie with a lot of archery. Not historically accurate. It was ok if u can get past that they call it robin hood.

As a movie it was pretty bad. Seemed really cheesy.

Directors today have no imagination they copy everything from the past and they can't even do that well, there are no more great movies, the people who get Oscars get them because of their popularity not from their acting.

Watch some of the old movies, they are more believable.

One thing I really liked was the fact that the feller in the lead role practiced for countless hours and actually learned to do all the fancy archery seen in the movie. From no experience with a bow at all, to being able to hold multiple arrows in his bow hand and shoot them at a rate better than three in two seconds. Shooting from all angles in all directions. Some of the stuff he does requires real skill and an awful lot of practice. I have two bows on order at the moment- one is going to be a birthday present for my wife. The bowyer making them is an old mate of mine. The last bow he made for me was a gift for one of my kids twenty years ago. These new ones are a totally new prototype reflex deflex longbow design he has perfected. Can't wait:) JayInOz

It is called Robin Hood because they stole the title from a great movie and gave it to a poor one!

I put as much credence in reviews here as I did in Siskel and Ebert reviews of movies. What one person likes, another doesn't..and another may think it's great.

The original Robin Hood was pretty hokey also, but I liked it. I grew up on the Richard Greene version and that one got a lot of 1950's kids into archery. Only way to know if you will like it is to watch it. May not be your cup of tea but that's okay. I haven't watched a new movie since Sweet Dreams and Dances With Wolves.

I am trying to figure out if i want to spend the $1.75 at the redbox to watch this. Some of it sounds interesting, some sounds horrible.....

And i wouldn't be looking for it to be anything like robin hood, just a bow movie, but still not sure haha

You can still get the two dvd set with Howard Hill for about the price of going sit in a theater and eat crappy popcorn and drink over iced soda.

Plenty of times old and new ones.

Look close at the bows and arrows being used. Hollywood thinks we are stupid and some are they don't know the period types of weapons used.

To some a bow is a bow and arrow is too.

Sorry just canceled Netflix that demonic company. Yesterday I had totally enough of it all what I watched.

After finding out and seeing certain things I have to stop with that type of garbage.

I am with Shawn on Costner and Crowe's version

Pretty disappointed with the few archery shots taken by the legendary Robin Hood. Like a cream puff without cream.

Spent the $1.75 and just finished the show. Much as I thought i would dislike it, i didn't. Pretty fun show, good action, and liked the archery shots. Couple things though, this is definitely not the old style Robin hood, and probably would have been better received if it had not been called Robin hood. And the setting seemed as much a dystopian future as medieval England. But hell, it was a movie and not a documentary and there was a little archery to boot so, not too bad. One of the shots you could see the arrow flexing in flight, so that was pretty cool. Basically an alright show if you are able to not stress out about things being "real" and just enjoy it.

Its like when i watch a John Wayne, or many older westerns and they are set in the 1880s and everyone has a 92 winchester, or the setting is Monument Valley, Texas, I just have to let it go and enjoy the movie. I mean, that is why we watch them, right?

There are too many who think Robin Hood was the “deer hunter rebel” created by Hollywood in late ‘30s. We like stereotypes as long as are our period “ideals”. It’s a movie, and I treat it like this.

So those who won't watch it, is it because it doesn't fit your idea of archery purity? Like i said i didn't figure i would like it and ain't saying it is the greatest movie by any stretch, but it was alright.

I can think of many enjoyable ways to spend my short time on this planet. Watching the new holly-weird movies isn't one of them. This one might be ok, I'll never know and don't care, their not getting any of my money.

OK ITS THE GREATEST MOVIE ON THIS EARTH. lol

AT LEAST NO PEDOPHILES WERE IN IT THAT I KNEW OF. UNLIKE NETFLIX WHAT THEY HAVE ON.
