I had a black SkyHawk years ago. I ordered it from a shop in Alton IL. I worked for Southwestern Bell in N. St. Louis. I had a repair job in Hazelwood one afternoon, and decided to stop by sky and ask how my bow was doing. It was boxed up by the door ready to be shipped. They let me take it after verifying my order with the shop I ordered it from, so I saved shipping cost! It was a great bow. Killed some deer, and placed in quite a few 3Ds , with it.

I’ve got three. Love them. One of his longbows and then once Earl passed and Ann sold Sky to Matthews I have a Long bow and Rogue after Mathews took over. Mathews changed the grip and did some other modifications.

Nice bows. Anything that Earl built will shoot. Matthews sold Sky in 2009.

I have always wanted to try a rogue. Never seen one in person. I think they are a great looking bow. And have heard a lot of good things about them.

Had a couple and my friend still has my old one. He holds a couple state indoor records with that bow. Brown riser 62 amo and 56 at 28. Twisted lower limb and still shoots lights out.Like Frank said If Earl built it they shoot fantastic.

I had three Sky Hawk bows. One brown and two black. I sold the long limbed bow to a friend, and still have the other two. One has 55# limbs, and the other has 60# limbs. Too much weight for me now...I'm shooting a 51# A&H and a 51# Win & Win Quarbon.

The Sky Hawk is a super stable bow, with excellent speed. I tried a bunch of bows at ETAR, and couldn't beat the Sky for accuracy. Always averaged better than 8 points per target on 3D shoots. Keeping them all in the lungs (or better) worked for live game, as well. Deer, elk, caribou, bear. I didn't miss many grouse or ptarmigan. I remember shooting 3 ptarmigan in a row on the Haul Road one year. Had a compound shooter muttering to himself, 'cause he didn't cut a feather. I'm calling neck shots and making them with my Sky and heavy Judo points.

I have a 70# Rogue, 60 inch. I might give this bow away to the right person.

I've killed a lot of deer with the Sky Conquest I bought from Ben Rogers several years ago. Just a great design.

I got a bunch a Shy Hawk and Rogue limbs in an estate sale lot a few years back that look like they were never mounted. If the whole bow was as nice, it would be a keeper. The limbs are all 55# and over if I'm remembering right. I think I have 4 sets left over from then.

I'm getting senile, plus I've owned a lot of bows. JRW triggered my memory. I also had a Conquest back then.

Hard to think retrospectively for me. back late 80's maybe. I went to Del's(Moore) Archery Den-Bend ,Oregon and tried out a Martin Saber and a Earl Hoyt Sky Eagle. Now in my old age, I wish I would have taken both those bows home. I gave the Eagle to my nephew. I was and am still am fond of my Wing Red Wing Hunter bows. The Eagle performed about same is the Wing Vantage pro I also was shooting- 183 or so FPS with 30" 2117 and 125 grn Zwickey. My RWH's are a tad faster.the 3 bows draw weight is 52lb =/- lb and i draw 29inches. If i could only have one bow for the rest of my life, any of the three would make me content.

I have 2 metal riser Sky bows. Both are Left Handed.

Sky Medalist, 68", 31# limbs. My "mostly go-to" bow.

Sky Target Master, with 3 sets of limbs, if I recall 26#, 29# or 30#, and I think 33# or so. I made a case for this, but have not shot it in a while, so I can't exactly recall the specs.

Both are smooth and quite nice to shoot.

A little history on the Rogue, takes to Earl Hoyte Jr. in the early 90s when he brought out the Rogue.

Earl first made the Rogue in 57 and couldn't sell them that it wasn't a longbow, he stated that it was a longbow do to the string did not touch the limb when strung but it wouldn't sale.

He shelved the bow until his son discover it in storage and they decided to bring it back out to the market, if some here remember it was one of the first hybrid longbows and the rest is history.

I did own his Rogue 60"- 55# and his Rogue T/D 63# - 55# and that one was a sweet bow to shoot and took deer with it. Now I am 10# lighter in bow #.

Earl was a very fine gentleman to talk with and had a vast amount of knowledge to give out.

I have a Earl Hoyt jr. 45 pds at 28” rogue take down model...63”.. I’ve never personally seen another one. No bow on market pound for pound can compare to its speed. Same as earls Sky Hawk... pound for pound fastest bow , one of at least made.

I had two Skyhawks; LH; 63#@28”. They were great bows, very stable in the hand and quiet. Sold them several years ago when I found myself shooting my lighter weight bows (50-55#} more often.

I have a Sky, Hunter Supreme. A great shooting bow! I bought it nos from a sporting goods store in Michigan. I guess its metal riser did not appeal to other archers. Their loss was my gain. Excellent limbs. Wish I could find a set of 40lbs limbs for it.

I've got a set of limbs but no riser that I got in an estate sale lot. Seems like it would have been a really nice bow.

I have a Sky Medalist riser that I have a set of Trad Tech Black Max limbs mounted on (fittings were swapped). Would love to pick up a set of 32-36# long Sky Medalist or Conquest limbs for it.

My main bow is a Conquest with Uukha limbs (fittings swapped). I love shooting my Conquest.

My first recurve I've bought and still have is a PSE Raven SD (there is where my handle comes from). It's super fast. I've have clocked it at over 210 fps, but don't remember the arrow weight, but 53# at my 29½" draw. It's probably a PSE compound riser with Earl Hoyt jr. limbs.

Here's is pic of the riser.
