First of all, thank you for stopping by to read my post and secondly, I do hope you enjoy my review of my new bow. With the 2019 ASA rule change and with added class of Barebow which would allow stringwalking in a competitive class, I began to look replace my well love and overly worn out 23” Hoyt Avalon. I began looking around the current market for a bow that would be a fair priced, but also have the quality and performance of top of line bows. No matter where I looked (even in the used market) for a 23” or 25” riser the price for the riser alone was minimum $500.00 and wasn’t interested in spending over $1000.00 with pairing a new pair of limbs and used riser (no warranty/not comfortable). So, after a couple of weeks of looking and researching for a new bow, I kept getting drawn back to a specific bow that wouldn’t leave my thoughts. The looks and design of this bow just screamed out to me. I emailed Lucas Guo of Bosen Bows in China, after contacting and discussing set up ideas with Lucas, I received a Grey 25” Stronghold riser paired with a set of Long RC3 limbs 40#@30” coming in at 70" overall length. Shipping and Buying process The Shipping process only took 4 days to reach me all the way from China and was able to send payments through PayPal. For those who don’t usually buy items from China its usually is a very delayed waiting game for things to show up and if the show up. The packaging and initial impressions Whenever I got home the day that my Bosen Bows setup had arrived I came home to an extremely well packaged box. The box had completely wrapped in white shipping foam several times and underneath were both the riser box and limb box wrapped in a heavy watertight black plastic together. Inside each box were a set of padded limb sleeves/bags and a padded riser sleeve/bag. There was also no damage to either box due to the heavily wrapped foam. I was extremely impressed on how well and how carefully packaged this bow came, Lucas and his team did a great job insuring that nothing would be damaged. After cutting away all the plastic and tape freeing the boxes from each other I started with unboxing the riser. Inside the box there were several small bags containing including the riser inside the riser sleeve. The smaller bags contained a clicker plate extension, the lower riser weight plates, Owner’s manual, Allen key set and an extra grip which is a low grip (the riser came with the high grip already installed). All the parts besides the grips that came with the riser were very well polished and very well machined stainless-steel parts. (I work/worked in several machine shops and have seen and experienced many high-end companies work, Lucas and his team are on par with what we have made.) Now the riser came out to absolutely amazing, everywhere I looked I couldn’t find an issue anywhere. The riser is made from 6061 aluminum billet, which is then CNC machined into shape. These risers are not cast or cast forged risers they are billet CNC risers. The fit and finish of the riser is superb, right along with all the big brand high end companies. The anodized finish was very well done and the color was even throughout the riser, no build up or rough spots. The riser was well balanced and fairly hefty without the additional weight plates. The grip installed on the bow was a high grip that was dipped in a carbon print nicely done and very smooth. All the threaded bushings in the bow as well were polished Stainless-steel with the exception of the tapped hole above the sight window. There were no sharp or burred edges along the whole riser making everything nice a soft to the touch. Now onto the limb box, there were a couple of other items that came in the limb box along with the limbs in their limb sleeves. Included in the limb box was of a bowstringer, and a Bosen Bows armguard. The RC3 limbs came out to be a very nice, thick gloss finish with well laid limb decals on front and back of the limbs. The RC3 limbs are a carbon/foam limb which makes them extremely light weight and stable. Even though the limbs have a thick gloss finish there is no problem seeing the beautiful carbon underneath. I checked everywhere on both limbs and couldn’t find a single issue. There were no thick spots of finish, no rough spots on the limbs or limb tips or string grooves. These RC3 limbs were superbly made and well designed. Setup and First shots I started the bow out with an 8.5” brace height, even tiller, on a 14 strand D97 string that I built so I could setup and shoot the bow(later replace with a Mountian Muffler Bowstring from Steve Baker). The first grouping to come out of this bow was impressive with a rough setup just to see what the bow shot like. At 13yards after my first 3 arrows and splitting a nock I began the tuning process/ bareshaft tuning. Upon the first three shots I was thoroughly impressed with how smooth the limbs drew back, there was no awkward feeling and no stacking throughout the draw cycle of these limbs . Also, I forget to mention how quick and stable these limbs are, the torsional stability of the limbs are fairly stiff for a semi-standard limb profile which is great for the price point for these limbs. They are lightweight, carbon/foam, with a fair amount of torsional stability for under $300.00 and they shoot amazingly well for their price. Once I got the Bow setup with my desired weights the complete setup tipped the scales at 5 pounds and 2 ounces. Which in turn for me made a perfectly balanced bow that stayed put and didn’t tip back or forward with an extended arm and open bow hand, the bow naturally sits in the webbing of my hand. This made the bow very well behaved upon release with a very minimum jump forward reaction. With no bad vibrations or hand shock. Now I have not chrono graphed this set up as of yet but with almost a 8GPP arrow setup and a 14 strand d97 I would put it in the 180-190 fps class if I had to guess. I will be doing some chrono testing in the future and will post back the results once everything is finished. I know that there are many skeptical people out there about buying any archery equipment coming from China. I have 2 other cast forged riser that came from china that I have put 62#@ 30” ilf longbow limbs and have had zero issues with them other than they could have been better finished other than that everything else is structurally sound. Same thing goes for my Bosen Bows setup not a single thing wrong anywhere and have not had a single issue with it since the day I received it. So, for anyone that is worried about getting anything from Lucas Guo of Bosen Bows in China, after my experience I would say that it is safe, quality, stable, performing setup that beats every other quality barebow option because of its price point and at close to $710.00 excluding shipping. Why over pay when you can get the same quality for cheaper? The only words that I can use to describe this experience and this bow is highly impressive and a joy to shoot. Background Information Here are also a couple of things and bits of useful information about Bosen Bows Bosen bows has only be producing for 8 going on 9 years and for the quality that you get with Bosen Bows you would think that they have been producing bows for a lot longer time. Bosen Bows offers a 1 year manufactures warranty Bosen Bows recommends d97 or 8190 bowstring materials Bosen Bows GPP minimum on barebow and Olympic setups: 6 GPP Traditional bow setups: 9GPP Thank you everyone for taking your time reading my review and I hope everyone enjoys the video and finds this information useful. I will keep everyone updated with future videos and more content of this Bosen Bows setup. I would also like to give a huge shout out to Lucas Guo and his team at Bosen Bows for making a fantastic product. If anyone has any comments and or questions be sure to post them below. Later, Roy

Nice review, they remind me of the Greenhorn Sirius bows.

Not seen one close up yet but from Facebook pics they look well made an I'm friends with Lucas on FB, I'm sure they will pop up more frequently at tourneys and looking forward to seeing one close up and handling one.

Barebow Stringwalking is growing at a rapid rate and a LOT of choice in Barebow risers. I've had the Best Moon, and own a Stolid Bull Vanquish and the Gillo GQ

I'm assuming the riser meets WA Barebow rules in fitting through the ring.

I imagine on your setup you would need a shorter BB weight to meet WA rules, do you have more options for internal weight, or does it not need it?
