What are you looking for? I had one of Dale's bows back in the late 80's. I loved the bow but a neighbor loved it more and I sold it to him...he still has it but isn't a neighbor anymore...at least not next door. What we think is just what we think, but I think you know that. Great bows...in my opinion.

They are pretty decent shooters and are exceptional as far as the sculpting of the riser. I don't know what finish Dale used, but it is not very durable. I refinished my first one and it would not hurt to refinish my present one.

I've had 6. Still have 3. Best bow I've shot. Just keep changing draw weights. I have Morrison, Robertson, Hill Country, Bear, Hornes,Widows and a few others in the cabinet but haven't hunted with anything but Dyes for the last 15 years.

Great grip IMO.The arrow shelf work is ornate and shapely.Wraps around the fat of your hand and forefinger for a nice secure feel. You can see that in the picture above.Excellant checkering work and nicely done piece points. The medicine wood limbs are nice.I find them to be stable shooters

Was really disappointed in my one of a kind Snake wood. I wanted it for a couple years then I got it. I didn't like how it shot and don't think it was me. The next man up bought it and I don't think he liked it either. It was hard to sell.
Now bare in mind it was snake wood very rare and one of a kind.
Just didn't like the bow. All this hoopla and then the let down.
Then the writing was in white and to me it looked gauddy. I would have chosen a cream color or a yellow maybe to look better and softer.
I couldn't wait to sell the bow and I paid I think 1,000.00 used because it was snake bit.
I know a lot of guys swear by these so maybe it was just the bow they don't all come out great I guess?

Had a blacktail also the snakebit model. Norm makes a great bow but this snakebit was very loud and could not quit it for nothing. Got rid of it. some things just do not turn out like you want I guess

I've got 2 Dale Dye trails end good medicine takedowns. 55 @28 64" 1990 and 64@28, 62" 1990 with extra 72@28 Limbs. For now I shoot full length cx 350's with 300 gr points. I don't claim to be any type of expert bare bow archer but they fit my hand like a glove, shoot fast, smooth and quiet and hit what I'm aiming at. I won't be giving them up anytime soon...

I dont think Ryman is bad mouthing the bow because of the string. He is saying the stock string is not as good as some of the well made after market strings. It can make a big difference. He is bad mouthing the bowyers stock string.
I had a Snakebit Blacktail by the way and shot SBD 8 strand strings/woolpuffs and it was not an objectionable shooting or loud bow.
I dont think being made from snakewood is a problem for a bow.
Any bowyer can make a few lemons as well.

Bought one custom for me in 1990 when I was a lefty and loved it! I’had been looking for a righty for the past couple years and got one last year (thanks Brad!)
The rightyis absolutely beautiful and the grip of all Dale’s bows are fantastic. My only problem with this bow is that every arrow every string, every shelf/rest material, even every tiller combination that I tried with this bow had my arrows flying much higher than other bows. It’s not that it is markedly faster just the arrow seem to pop up off of it. I fixed that now though. I shoot slightly heavier arrows out of it and it flies just like my others now.
Nice and quiet. Very stable. And just as fast as most of my other bows. Such a beautifully sculpted risers!

Very nice bows..and with quality pierce points!. Certainly heirloom quality. I don’t think most even understand the quality and craftsmanship of bows like this. Very low production numbers too.

I'm not bad mouthing the bow at all just saying what I experienced. They hate you for being a killer and they hate you when your spiritual and want to stone you and they hate you for your experiences.LOL
OMG it's great to be hated I thrive on it.LOL
Most of you don't know what to do with the information I give you anyways>LOL
Not all bows come out. I've always thought that if your paying for a high dollar bow all tricked out at least they can put a high performance string on the bow.
Most Bowyers are still in their caves to understand fire let alone rocket science new age strings.LOL
You can either stone me or we can get stoned together? LOL

I have 6 of Dale's bow's. I really love them. I have 7 extra sets of limbs also. My favorite is his Millennium Medicine Point. Dale built 10 of them as that was the start to his Medicine Point bows which he started in 2000. I have #8 which was dedicated to my Dad. He got to see it before he passed away. Dale put my Dad's ashes into my boys bow so my Dad could still be hunting with him. My dad never met my boy. It's a very special bow that Dale called a "Spirit Point". There was a few years that Dale switch his finish. He went back after a few people had problems. I hope that Dale is enjoying his retirement as he deserves it!!!! If you ever get a chance to shoot a Dale Dye bow I think you will like it.

If you can't shoot one, then it just doesn't fit you. Period. That bow is high quality and will shoot with any other, providing the archer can do that...and if it fits him or her. Most issues aren't about quality as most custom bows will do just fine thank you. However, they must work for you...they have to fit.
