WEATHER ALERT! WEATHER ALERT!

Fellow "Sticks" friends and participants:

Please stand by for word whether this Sunday's shoot (Jan. 20th) is "A Go", or whether it will be cancelled.

The Crew has EVERYONE'S SAFETY in mind, and with all of the forecasting saying this upcoming storm could be dangerous, we simply are asking folks to keep an eye to PA Bowsite, to The Leatherwall, and to our Facebook page for FINAL WORD.

We do know the roads this morning in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, were bad, to say the least. And the weather pattern that brought it was considered mild.

A second weather system is to arrive Thursday, expected to bring snow.

A third system is to arrive Saturday and continue into Sunday. Expected to bring snow, ice, sleet, and freezing rain, with freezing rain being the least of the forecast. Not looking good.

I know this posting will probably generate comments, both negative and positive, but we have to weigh out everyone's safety, including safety on the course, involving iced trees, branches and pathways....a number of unknown elements.

The Crew is in communications, and we will post final word shortly.

Please, let us know your thoughts, too. Very few of the folks, both participant and crew, live "close" to the clubhouse in Alverton. One area may be perfectly fine; another area may be dealing with completely iced roads.

If the shoot is cancelled, a new post will be made. And being that it is scheduled to be the SPAM Shoot, it can always be part of February's shoot.

Safety is our biggest concern, friends...

Thank you...

Thanks for the info. Randy. I'll keep an eye out for the final verdict although it seems the local weather changes their minds on the track of the storm every 5 minutes. I'm hoping for the best as I'm sure you all are as well but there is no point in jeopardizing safety to have fun flinging arrows.

Jim: yes, we're just flinging arrows with friends. And, we'd rather all our friends be safe, so we can fling arrows many times in the future. I'll post the word once the Crew decides...

We...I...greatly appreciate your understanding!

Randy

Don't know why anybody would complain about that Randy, but yeah...there are a few dim wits that may.
