twisted limb. Buddy of mine sent me a bow and the top limb is twisted pretty bad. Not sure the best way to get it fairly straight. Don’t need perfect. But the string is resting half way between the string groove and edge of the limb. Bottom limb is pretty good. It’s a 3 piece. Thanks in advance

BOHO, 90% of the time it can be done by just reversing the bend with hand pressure. That's likely because that is how it was bent in the first place. You can use hot water but you don't need a bath tub to immerse the limb, and most of the time you don't need any type of jig.
Most older bows were strung..'through-the-legs'..and that is where the twist comes from. You can sit on your couch and reverse bend it...maybe both limbs until it comes back over.
If that isn't sufficient, run hot tap water and run over the limb where the bend is and then twist the opposite way. String the bow every now and again to check alignment. When it's okay, then run cold water over it (limb) and let it strung for few days to set.

Hey, nice little illustration, I hadn't seen that before.
I have used the hanging weight and the heat methods. Have yet to have one I wasn't able to correct. But I do always consider it as being down to either fix it or make it a wall hanger, and at that point I have nothing to lose anyway.
When going with hot water I soak towels in the hot water and wrap the limb and let it really heat soak.
And instead of a of a hair dryer when going with hot air, I use one of those hot air paint stripper "guns" set on low.
That last one is my last resort because it strikes me that it would be pretty easy to get it too hot.
Hmmm. I have one of those non-contact IR temp sensors. I wonder what would be a top limit for heat? What do ya think? Say 180 degrees F?

Tom , I thought I could copy and paste the link for you on the BlackTail bows website on simple limb fix but I didn't do something right? Anyway if you go on their website click on FAG in the search area and go down the questions and look on question #17. There will be a blue hi lighted limb fix and click on that. Very simple no water and no heat just an easy fix.

I bought a York Cresent that had a badly twisted limb. Had a hard time trying to get it straight. Finally I strung it and took one side of the string loop out of the limb knock so it would twist the limb in the direction I wanted it to go.Left the bow strung that way, and checked it every now and then.Did that for about 2 weeks ,and the bad twist came out of the limb.
