Who makes a good Recurve that are 64 to 66 inches?

From: goldentrout_one

Wes Wallace, I have a 66" mentor one-piece recurve that's outstanding.

From: matnjo

Only one I owned was a Dryad Epic ILF 17" handle and xl limbs. I enjoyed it. Nothing brad to say at all.

Now that I think about it, I currently own three Mentors - two are 64", one is 66", all one-piece recurves. Really the best recurves I've owned....

From: Bowmanmatt

Yes, I sold my 66” Jack Howard’s as the grip and I never felt good together. I like a low wrist if I can get it.

I had two Martin Venturas. Both 66inch. Great bows I dont think they make them anymore.

Fox x3. I am expecting a 64" High Sierra any day. Row would have made a 66" if I had asked him to..

64" Super Kodiak Black Beauty?

From: Ovilla Bill

I really like my Bear takedown. As said above, a B handle and #3 limbs make a 64 inch recurve. I actually have 3 set up like this, as well as one with an A handle and #3 limbs which makes a 60 inch bow. Hard to beat the versatility of the Bear TD.

If you're looking for a low wrist, Tim Woods, Acadian Woods, makes a 64-inch 50s style recurve.

From: 3Ditional
Date: 15-Jan-19

check out the 64" Kohannah Kurve by Bob Rousselo at Kohannah Bows. It's a sweet shooting 50's style recurve.

From: PASQUINEL

I have a Wes Wallace 3 piece in grey actionwood with 2 sets of red elm limbs dyed grey. One set 43 lbs @ 29" and the other set is 50 lbs @ 29". Great shooting recurve.

I also have an original Brackenbury Drifter 66" w/ 3 sets of limbs. Should find a new home for the Brackenbury as the limbs are too heavy for me.

From: Iwander
Date: 15-Jan-19

As far as I'm concerned and original brackenbury with three sets of limbs is what dreams are made of.

My first foray into traditional archery was with a 64" Assenheimer. Belong to a buddy who owns an archery proshop. Loved that bow! Few years later I asked him what happened to that Assenheimer. Says he went bow fishing with it. Left it on the bow of the boat. Turned back to it and it was gone! Ahhhgg!

From: Live2hunt

Quit talking about Wes Wallace bows, he needs to make my new limbs and does not have time to make any bows till they are done.

Love my 64" Timberhawk. Shoots awesome and very smooth.

One more plug - I have a Dryad "Orion" that I just got in October. It has the 19" riser and 'long' limbs (ACS, static recurve), making it a 64" bow. Now, it takes a 62" string, so it's a long 64" (really, the strung length is nearly the same length as my 66" Wes Wallace), but Dryad indicates it's a 64" bow so I'll run with that.....

My Orion is 42.5 lb at 28" and it gains 3.5 lb at my 30" draw length, making for a 46 lb bow at my draw length. However, it launches a 515gr arrow at 181 fps, and a 435gr arrow at 191 fps. This bow is a rocket. I kind of expected their marketing hype to be mostly BS, but my LabRadar does not lie, this is a very fast bow and does exactly what Dryad said it would.

Wes Wallace makes a great bow that is a very good value.

Blacktail makes a nice bow, but now very expensive. Glad I bought mine long ago.

Caribow makes a nice bow.

From: kat
Date: 16-Jan-19

Got to agree on Blacktails getting expensive, but most of the really good bows are going the same way. My 66" Elite VL has become my go to bow, and the Blacktail quality and service are second to none.

Buy a Bear Kodiak Special from the 60's. My favourite 64 inch bow was my Kodiak Deluxe.
