Primitive Archer is a good one as well depending on what you consider "traditional"" archery.

TBM and PA, are the best in my book. But I sure wish the bowyers journal was still being published .

I dumped TBM after they chose to run an article espousing the idea that our Native Americans were incapable of building an effective bow until after the Spanish arrives and introduced the English longbow.
In that article there were other technical errors. The one I do remember was the claim that heavy limb tips yield higher arrow speeds because they "flick" the arrow off the string faster.
TBM claims that it has no control of the content it carries and does not support or refute anything in the articles it publishes.
TBM ALWAYS has the choice to publish or not publish. Choosing to publish such things? I'm not going to support that.

Bender, every magazine will say that same thing, otherwise it's just a magazine of hand-picked, do as I want stories. You have to have some freedom of expression for writers whether or not it fits the mindset of the editors, as long as it isn't detrimental to the sport....or illegal. ;) Would you want to write for a magazine that edited all the original content to suit their agenda? Probably not. I know I wouldn't.
If that was the case here on this forum, most of us would have been gone years ago.

I enjoy some of the stories in TBM and most of the regular contributors. If you ever wanted to know about gap shooting, Jason Wesbrock has contributed an article in both the October/November and December/January issues.

Boy that's a lame reason to stop getting Traditional Bowhunter. I've been getting it since issue #1. I read the stuff that interests me...like any other magazine!

Kind of think Bender has the right to do away with any magazine subscription he wants to since he pays for it.
I don't subscribe to it either although I will buy a copy if there is something in it I want to read.

Alrighty then. If it's "lame" to not give money to commercial enterprises that purposefully spread misinformation and forward the concept that indigenous peoples are incompetent without the advent of Europeans, then I apologetically stand guilty as accused.

For several years I had a sub to TBM.Read every issue cover to cover. It was great for awhile but with trad archery very little changes other than new materials for arrows strings etc.At the time I didnt have a PC so mags and books were about it.Just seemed a waste of money after I entered the online world so I canceled.

I subscribed to TBM and Primitive archer from day one, as I Became more proficient as an archer, hunter and bow maker I seldom saw an article that enlightened me so I dropped them both.I had 10+ years of issues in binders, I eventually sold them all.
With all the internet information available I don't read magazines anymore.
In my youth I consumed every Sports Afield, Field and Stream, Boys life, Outdoor Life and Fur Fish And Game magazine for years. Every now and then I will pick up one of the above in a barber shot to take a look, they have the same exactly material as I saw in my youth just repackaged in a different format.
