Kinda of a cool looking little bow, but that is all i know about it. Has anyone shot or handled one. Considering trying one maybe, but i don't know if they are great or a dog and no one in my area has one to mess with. Any information would be appreciated. thanks

I have a Bearpaw Horsebow Express. Same thing?. It is a quick lightweight bow. If your draw is more than 28" it will stack. My only complaint is that the handle is small, about 3 -1/2" tall. It is well made and fun to shoot, really a short bow. Here is a video I posted on mine when I got it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVLP87qcojw Pete Ward also posted a review on his website. I think that is the original 48" version, the newer one is 52". Do you like the way it shoots? How is it speed wise? I ain't looking for a rocket ship, just something comparable to my other standards recurves in speed. They say the new one is good to 31" draw. Anything i ain't asking that i should be haha?

I see it is a longer bow that looks very similar. My bow shoots great. Never chronoed it but as quick as any like recurve I have shot. My draw is about 26" so no stacking for me. It is a very well made bow, tight glue lines well blended overlays, and well shaped tips. My only complaint is the 3-1/2" tall grip. I can shoot it no problem but I am always second guessing my hand placement. Hard to tell from the picture if the new one has a larger grip, it appears to be the same. In the end I like mine well enough that I do want to keep it. Kind of fun having a bow I can toss in my quiver. Chuck S

Imho stay away from these westernized designs of Asiatic bows. A KTB of the various manufacturers or an AF bow directly from the MFG or a Hwarang Model 25 through Mr. Duvernay (bluelake) will be much better than these....

tecum-tha, have you shot one?

I can only speak for 48" EXPRESS version as that was one of the first bow that I owned. it is one of the ONLY TWO bows I've sold, and I do not own it anymore (for a good reason).

so I' will say that I don't know how the newer 52" shoots.

with that said.

tecum-tha IS correct. (if comparing the Bodnik Horsebow Express to AF Bow or Ali-bow of similar size). Ali-bow/AF bows are MUCH MUCH BETTER quality as far as Modern interpretation of Asiatic bows are concerned.

The asiatic bows from Ali-bow or AF bow (I have both) are have more power behind them. The recurve is MUCH more aggressive, the string groove/nock on the limbs are about 3 inches in front of the bow when unstrung. Pulling back on the string, you immediately feel the strong presence of pre-loading. it is already in high tension at the brace.

whereas horsebow express was basically very very gentle reflex/deflex style when unstrung, the string grooves were basically in line with the handle on the both ends. no silah to speak of.

Bodnik horsebow express was fun to shoot, but it felt very weak pulling back, until it all the sudden hit a wall around 27". it really wasn't under strong tension at the brace, at least not as much as asiatic bows from ali/af.

IF bodnik has improved on their design, you may have good luck with it. I'd look at their unstrung profile first. if they are as straight as the EXPRESS used to be, I'd go with Ali/AF instead.

Thanks for the input, but i am not really interested in the Korean bows or shooting thumbring or on the off side of the bow. I would use a Mediterranean loose and shoot it in a more western style. I would be looking at it compared more to a something like a bear k mag.

Exactly. Just shoot them western style. Draw weight us generally rated at around 30" or 31". At aixbow.de you find typical FD curves of these bows to get yiu the poundage you want.
