I am curious how you use and enjoy your Sticks and Strings. What archery/hunting related activity brings the most relaxation and enjoyment to you? I would say that hunting with my longbow has the greatest potential for excitement and satisfaction. On the other hand, I have come to enjoy Roving through the woods more than anything on a per adventure basis. When I have access to an open field, I like shooting flu-flu's at aerial styrofoam targets(frizbee style toss and shoot).

My MO (modus operandi) hasn't changed much in six decades. I like watching arrows fly and that is number one. I like bowhunting as well as it's simply more time in the woods. Small game hunting, roving (stumping), and whatever I get into. Roving is something you can do any day of the year and I have plenty of space out here where I live, so that I suppose is part of that watching arrows fly thing.

Roving with my ASL and my Dog are my main enjoyment -cheap fun and can be done most anytime -I do this 5 or 6 days a week weather permitting

Dog and I can kill a whole day out there walking, sitting ,just chillin and never gets old Love the quiet

enjoy hunting too but not addicted to it as I was when younger

There is nothing I do not like about shooting a bow and watching an arrow fly. It is the most satisfying and relaxing thing I do.

Deer hunting, elk hunting, rabbit hunting, squirrel hunting, turkey hunting, stump hunting and shooting targets, what's not too like! But sometimes I take a break and go fishing. Yep, bow fishing.

4 things that REALLY make me happy. grandkids untill it's time for them to go. an arrow disappearing into the ribs on a deer exactly where I'm looking. a 50 wide screaming so hard the rod is flat laid over & shaking. & lastly I'm not to old yet to enjoy a lil sack time with the wife

All in the time of the year. Like today, here I am in northern Iowa, zero wind, 51 degrees, and I can't hunt yet as it's still gun season. Awful!!!!!

A little spring turkey hunting but most of spring and summer is spent shooting 3d.

1st of Oct to 1st of Dec it's back to deer hunting, every day!

Then there is always the bag target in the driveway for daily fun.

Any day with bow in hand is a good day. Hunting, stumping, field course, 3D, aerials, archery golf, inside winter stick bow nights, youth shoot, getting some one started, and practicing, probably missed some. Ah- going to try bow fishing again next year.

Shooting with friends at our monthly club shoots has become my favorite thing. I generally shoot with different groups each month, and the different styles, equipment, hand-made crafts and general fellowship are all very rewarding. I love shooting in my own little 12-target range out back, but that gets old by myself. So I've gotten more into arrow craft and leather work. I'm an experimenter, and not a pattern follower, so I'm quite slow and rough!

Roving/stumping is my primary enjoyment; I am fortunate to be able to get out often, and can access thousands of acres starting out my door. I'm still pretty new to hunting; I'm very fond of the state of mind I get tuned into, though I haven't taken a deer as yet. Short season here though, especially if life or weather use up some of that.

Also get a lot of satisfaction crafting arrows, and tweaking or crafting various accessories.

I just love archery. I’ve been at it for 48 years yet I still shoot 3-4 times a day if I can. Just what I like to do. I also love 3Ds and of course hunting/bowfishing. Honestly in those ventures I don’t consider archery the primary skill set so maybe that’s why they aren’t first. The main thing believe it or not I love that actually doesn’t involve me personally is teaching new folks. Going through the motions w them and watching them progress brings great satisfaction and relaxes me. Almost nothing better than watching a student effortlessly show perfect form while an arrow streaks into the gold. It’s almost like watching art. I know that’s hard to explain but I bet someone gets it

I guess I would like to primarily be a hunter but I don't have much in the way of quality hunting available.

I like "roving" but there's not much room around here for that...LOL, if I had someplace to rove I'd be hunting.

What I actually do most of is shoot targets in the back yard in preparation for hunting that I probably won't ever see.

For me, it is so cool to watch an arrow trace out its arc, especially when it hits the mark. Sometimes I watch other people shoot so I can follow the fletching in the air. I'm new to roving, but I find that a peaceful time in the woods. I like shooting a Fetro or more, something beyond my point on range. I've been working on my shot and hope to get back to the 100 yard range this spring.

Shooting with my son's has been the most fun I have had. The first 1 is now 26 y/o and watching him learn was awesome, but seeing the fire in my 6 y/o makes me smile just thinking about it!

Good shooting!

I like everything about it. I'll stump shoot all year long, attend 3D shoots, and hunt when the season is open. I guess my greatest enjoyment comes from stumping. It gets me out in the woods, keeps my beat up 68 year old body moving and in shape and if I'm lucky enuf to have a partner for the day it's a social event.

So I guess it boils down to the fact that the most relaxation and enjoyment comes from shooting my bow and that equates to stumping.

I love goin to 3D shoots. Taking the bow hunting for something/anything that's in season. And sometimes taking a short nap while hunting. (Why I hunt from the ground now) It sure is relaxing.

I don't really hunt much these days, but I just enjoy every opportunity I get to shoot... Basement, backyard, local shoots, big shoots (ETAR, Whittingham), indoor/outdoor target/3D, etc. Also enjoy making arrows, leatherwork and the associated stuff that goes along.

From: MStyles

I don’t hunt, I just prefer to be outside, walking thru the woods shooting rubber animals. I like to see the arrows sail thru the air, and hit what I’m looking at.

I may be a little late responding, however, I love getting my Bear Montana and going stumping. I bought the Montana about 2 years ago but just started really shooting it about 6 months ago. I can not put it down and I have many bows to select from. But stumping puts me in a natural setting with unknown distances and targets and this is now a good deal of my shooting. Going to start rabbit and bird hunting with it come Jan.

Preparing for my annual elk hunt, getting in shape, my horse and mule in sahpe , rides in the high country scouting. Many hours shooting/roving to ensure that if I get a shot I will be on. Going over my equipment. Its the whole thing. When I pack in all is good.

I like everything about archery. Shooting in the back yard is always relaxing unless I have one of those days that look like I have never shot a bow in my life. Obviously, hunting is still a treat, although I am not nearly as mad at deer as I used to be. Still like to be close enough to a critter that I could almost touch it. More and more, I look forward to our local 3D shoots. Really nice folks there. Look forward to the time that I can expand on the 3D locations around the state.

I would say that I have been having a blast going to the local 3D shoots with my 10 year old son. We always have a good time no matter how we shoot.

I started shooting when my 8 year old son wanted to shoot archery and he got me involved, we both knew very little about archery other then the obvious. We joined a local archery club and got lessons from those who know a lot more than we did. The hook was set. He is a 18 yr old young man now and we still go out and shoot arrows and visit 3D shoots, we have traveled to Pappy's place and the big shoot in PA. It has been a great father / son bonding experience for us. I ve met so many wonderful people via archery. I am retired now and its a big part of my day shooting archery with friends at the club. Wonderful sport.

For me, I shoot 3-D all spring until fall, shoot the occasional field, hunter and animal rounds, hunt, shoot indoor now until spring. Fills the whole year up. Fortunate to belong to a club that has all of these activities.

Depends on the time of the year, spring starts rolling in and I chomp at the bit to get out shooting 3d, then as elk season nears I start getting bored with it and ready to get out hunting. Love getting a new bow and tuning arrows too!

I enjoy shooting targets in the yard, shooting stumps (rocks, not so much) in the woods, teaching folks about traditional archery, and walking slowly through the deer woods looking for a patch of brown hair or the flick of an ear. Although I usually just wind up with white flags. Fun though.

BTW I placed a large farm tractor tire into the side of a sandy hill. The inside of the tire must be something like 2 feet..so I plan on doing some long distance shooting/75yds or so. This will be interesting. Last time I shot a longbow 100yds. was in the 1970's! I might place some tape on the riser for elevation until I get the range. Also, I found some125 grain target points machined so that they whistle in flight. That should be a hoot flying through the swamp canopy :)

3D, but I'd have a hard time choosing between 'fun' shooting, competing or setting up courses!

"Rabbit hunting" with the grandkids. Few rabbits are ever harmed but there are plenty of prickly pear riddled with holes. My youngest grandson even shot at and knocked over a rabbit when he was five years old. Talk about an excited kid. When it is just me, I love to shoot the bow. Usually at a target or a dark spot on a hay bale. I don't need to compete with anyone or even have anyone else around. Just shoot, and shoot some more. Maybe a couple hundred shots if that is what it takes to get my fill for the day. Hunting is ok, but there are so few shots taken that it is more of oneness with nature thing for me. I do love to watch the wildlife and I'm pretty sure that the day is coming that there will be no kill in my hunting.

Hunting.

I'm a bowhunter. I'm also a traditional muzzleloader hunter. I'm a hunter.

That's where my mind clears and I feel at ease. In the woods, weapon in hand.

Been into archer, off and on, since 1970.

Got back into it for a main activity in the spring of 2018, as a main retirement activity (retired Nov. 16, 2018).

I have shot just about all types of equipment except ILF Olympic Bows, but settled exclusively on trad.

I joined our local club in May, 2018.

Really like helping out at the club, shooting on the range, practising on the 3D range on bag targets, looking to get into 3D shoots in the 2019 season, once I get the skill up a bit.

Our range is rustic and I find it relaxing just to be out in the wood, shooting a bow.
