Hi, I have a Bear recurve bow, from top to bottom is: under strike plate is 48" Its a Bear glass powered Bearcat, with BC-01584, AMO-58", 40/50# US pat.2.842.113 looks like a brass bear button on the side of the bow & the words Bear Archery Grayling Michigan on the bottom, can anyone tell me what all this means, thanks.

The patent is the patent number...same on all Bear bows from 1953 through 1972. The Bearcat was made from 1964 to 1971, and I suspect yours is an early 70's since it has the 45/50 designation.
