Whats the best way to remove the compass from a Bear T/D. Mine dont work at all and rattles alot when i shoot it. Just want to take it out an replace so it at least dont rattle anymore.. B Riser Early 90s model if that matters.

It's in a plastic case, I broke through the clear part and then gently worked a side in with a screw driver, with out pressing against the wood. Then used needle nose pliers to grab and pull, took a couple of times but over all it came out easier that I thought it would.

Gently work the edges with a sharp knife like an Exacto I have removed two so I could customize my Bears. They are both completely intact to put back in place if I ever sell.

Dont know why Bear bothers with the thing. Cheaper to make without and looks better imo.

I like the compass. It's not my main compass but it gives quick look at direction when I need it.

They are definitely cheap. The take outs are still on my bench. On the bench they are WAY off. (metal bench) I can dang near make them point any direction as I move them around the shop. Away from any influences they work ok.
It does make me wonder about them outdoors. I know in Michigan's UP the natrual iron screws with a good compass.

Dan in MI, I like how you customized your compass hole in the risers. Nice job!

I can't understand why Bear continues to put them on their Bow's.The original T/D never had a compass. They have also changed the placement of their decals from the top back to the top belly side on all their bows with the exception of the 59 Kodiak.
