Four consecutive shots at 20 yards on Tue. with witnesses. I was stacking arrows at 33 yards indoor before our club meeting on thus. and a member walked up, looked at my recurve and said, "shoot that squirrel target on the far wall" again 33 yards. I dropped that arrow in a dime sized hole in the 10 ring! Finally, all that formwork is paying dividends.

Good job! I've been working a lot on form too. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get out to 20 yards until it warms up, or winter league begins. But I am shooting noticeably better, as well.

Thanks, I should add that all those holes are mine, that day 20yards, no worm up. Not all bullseyes for sure, but most would be good enough to fill a deer tag, besides, 20 yards is farther then I need to shoot deer anyways

Those lower right-hand holes in the white were from the pin, we are changing bales soon, it's getting hard to pin up a target! Took me three or four tries to find a spot that would hold the pin.

My formwork is kind of basic, I shoot instinctively, I know that will raise some eyebrows, but that's how I shoot. That being said, I concentrate on a light consistent grip on the bow, relaxing my thumb on my string hand, pulling the string until my middle finger passes through my anchor (corner of my mouth), then finish by pointing my elbow straight back and in line with the shot as I release. My follow through puts my string hand thumb on my shoulder If I do it correctly. Takes a lot longer to explain than it does to execute. Form equals accuracy for me.

Yessir form is everything, it looks like you have something figured out there. Keep working on it so it gets so ingrained it will be second nature. Great shooting.

Here’s what it did for me: first half-dozen or so shots from a new-to-me bow. The two fliers are both 2016s; the rest are an assortment and in a group just a couple inches wide at 20 yards.

Very nice!
I have got back into archery as a retirement activity, started in spring 2018, retired Nov. 16, 2018.
I know I have to work on my form, my goal is to get there by spring 2019, which I think is reasonable.
Your results are inspiring :)
Trad is not for those who require instant gratification ;)

If you’re just starting/getting back into it, read Guitar Zero and/or The Talent Code.
Also worth reading if you want to know about how to go about working on your form.
Can’t recommend these two highly enough...
