I made a marginal hit both back legs and through the gut. I shot way left for some reason. I waited overnight and found him in under 200 yards.

I’ve made a couple gut shots in years past and gave them time. Patience was the key here. We track blood for around 125 yards, lost blood and fanned out. He was about 50 yards from last blood.
Patience and persistence along with friends to help look was the key.

my old Chesapeake bay retriever passed a while back & while she found many deer over the years I'm positive a well trained bloodhound will put an end to those sleepless nights. definitely gonna be my next dog because bad shots do happen congrats on finding such a nice animal
