I’ve put a lot of effort into reworking my anchor... And I’m curious as to whether it’s possible to have overdone it.
Any well-informed positions on that? Is there a tip-off that you’re just trying too hard?
Just thinking that I may have gotten into a habit that I might not do well to try to continue at higher poundage....
Thoughts?

My long time advice has been is to hold your face up out the way and search for the strongest and most comfortable position in the back of your shoulder. Then lay your face over on your hand as would lay it on the stock of your favorite shotgun. Feel for some reference touch points. - lbg

Matt, One part of your face that is a constant is your cheek bone. I just it to tuck my hand up into (folded thumb). The back end of my thumb/hand touches my ear lobe when at full draw. I just work on repeating my anchor/loose and followthrough after that. May not help you but that's about the only way I can describe it. Without seeing you shoot, we really can't say.

Yeah, that’s why I’ve gone to snugging the first section of my index finger up under my cheekbone with that base knuckle back at the TMJ.
I guess that’s not “too far” back, because with my shoulder blades pulled tight together, I end up several inches farther back - about the length of my index finger, actually.
Guess I should try getting a vid clip for you guys to critique....

I like to think of it differently and make sure that my elbow is where I want it to be...proper alignment. With the elbow in the correct place the hand doesn't have much choice where it is so then pick you anchor reference point. Some practice in front of a mirror can help with this...Best, Tom.

for over 30 years iv shot 3 under index in corner of my mouth gave the Rick Welsh high anchor cupping jaw bone & feather to nose a try for almost 2 years but recently went back to my old ways. I really like the gun barrel view & the close point on of the high anchor but just not as consistent as index in corner of mouth for me (note) I don't know what kind of shooter I am I don't think yards but have a rough idea of them. I don't aim with the arrow but my conscience mind is aware of it. I mostly look where I want to hit draw to anchor hesitate to line things up pull the last bit with my shoulders-back & let fly

In a mirror, find the spot at which your forearm is in line with the arrow.
