Hi guys and gals,
I am looking to set up a new shooting area at my house and I need recommendations about what to use as a backstop. I have tried hay bales and they don't work. So o am looking for suggestions for cheap large backstops that yall have made / use. Please let me know what yall have.
Thanks,
Rick

I've used cheap sheets of 3/4 plywood but horse stall mats are probably the way to go.

The stall mats are HEAVY, so are usually sold 4'X4' sized to be manageable. Don't remember the price, but it was the best/least costly setup for my backyard range.
I hung them on a fence gate, but had to add a wheel on the gate to support the weight and still be able to swing the gate open.

I believe they are in 4x8 sheets where I got mine. They are heavy. 4x4 would be much better. As I recall they are around 30 to 40 bucks at Tractor Supply.
