With all the sites on the net, what makes this one so good? I would saw people and topics.

From: Rough Run

Discussions on Leatherwall are far less inhibited than others. And while there may be some... elevated disagreements, the discussions are as a result, in my opinion, more open and honest as a result. After all, we are supposed to be adults - we have the ability to not participate, and we should be able to receive opposing views without taking things personally or becoming rude. Openness and truthfulness are not always clean and pretty. Doesn't mean they aren't helpful. Just my thoughts.

This site differs from many others..... very friendly for one. You can see various good ole boys clubs here but a newby always seems welcome to the campfire.Ive seen some rather opinionated threads but there was no crying over spilt milk..... good place to learn and enjoy our sport and im thankful for it ??

For me it’s the members and info. Plus, this site is much more easy to navigate than other similar ones. I just don’t care to wade through a bunch of ads before seeing what the guys have to say.

You can be in an argument with someone on Monday and they will be sending prayers on Tuesday. Emotion shows devotion and is just part of who everyone is. And Pat and Phil are pretty tolerant of some of use boneheads as well.

IT all about one string on many types of Bows. I don’t know every buddy and every buddy don’t know me. But we are the greatest people in the world. Shoot straight and love archery.

Simplicity, freedom, good people, interesting subjects, ability to be personal... these are a few...

A great bunch of people fully committed to Traditional archery. A closeness develops and people reach out to offer help and genuine caring. If you have a question on some aspect of our sport just ask and you will receive lots of information, which I find extremely helpful. I check the site several times a day. This is a good thread. Because you don't have to be sheep and worship the site owner

From: RymanCat
Date: 14-Nov-18

Knowledge and no BS! You don't have to worship the site owner to be able to get along with them and have them iron out issues when they come up.

The site owner you are referring to is much better than some want to say. That's the sad part of keys and opinions that hurt others and broadcast a false flag!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found him and them much different than some of you guys broadcast.

Remember there are several that are banned from sites that are allowed here.

Seems like some sites are very liberal.

From: Popester1

I felt welcome on my first day here. I've been helped by many, and, it was hard for me to believe, my dad taught me a number of things that turned out to be wrong about shooting a recurve bow. A guy can learn a lot from those with more experience. I have.

From: Knifeguy

The campfire’s warm, the coffee is good and a venison and pepper jack sandwich is best shared with those around the fire. We may differ; we may bicker; but in the end after all of the disagreements are pushed aside, archery binds us together like sinew. It’s what we are! Lance

From: Knifeguy
Date: 14-Nov-18

Mr McNeal, I’ll bite! Then why do you get in the sand box if it’s only to kick sand at us and disrespect the OP with your distain. I sure don’t see anything self appreciating in our responses. A simple question was asked and answered with respect until your post.

We're allowed to act like a family...sometimes dysfunctional, sometimes argumentative, sometimes protective, sometimes humorous, but by and large, always willing to help the other guys out. And like a family, our own opinions are better than the other family's opinions. Lol.

Your never going to make everyone happy. But this site comes pretty darn close. I have seen a lot of awesome things take place on here over the years. The Auction for Jim "Dire Wolf" to name just one. A lot of good people on here. This site was a wonderful Idea. Pat and Phil do a really great job running this site. I sure wouldn't want their job. This bow hunter feels right at home at this camp fire. To answer your question" White falcon". It is the people I have got to know over the years. The people that I have prayed for. And the people that have prayed for me on here. You hear all the good and the bad things that happen in these bow hunters lives. You get to know them. All the acts of kindness that I have witnessed over the years. We are like a big family! We really all are brother's after all. Proof is many are still here. When this site started from the beginning. I came on around 1998. Then "ToNTo" now tonto59 Shoot straight....... ;-)

To me it's a no brainer what makes this such a great site....Great people! You might not agree with everyone and vise versa but in the end we all shoot a stick and a string and that's enough common ground for me.

From: RymanCat
Date: 15-Nov-18

Because you can be loved in an unloving world. Like George says and hawk.

We can't even make ourselves happy any times either. Life is a grind so why can't we all be friends.

I know if I was found on the trail and had run an arrow through me everyone would stop to help me pull it out.

Even when the henchman lowers the ax on the threads head its for the best.LOL

Numerous and humorous things make this site the best. I like swap and trade a lot. I was a member on another trad site that was way to serious and stuffy. No fun over there, and it required payment for participation at certain levels.

From: sir misalots

I visit here numerous times a day. I enjoy it. sometimes there is a post I dont agree with, but the pros out weigh the cons.

I love looking at the skilled craftsmanship that some provide. Also I enjoy helpful advice from experienced archers.

with that said I hope to hang around awhile. Id love to meet a few of the people on here.

From: TrapperKayak

- The fact that they don't axe all the crap I write. - I like the people here and if I don't I let you know about it. - I like to share my pictures of where I've been, so just in case you don't ever get to go there, at least you get to see a few fragments of what I saw. - I have made some good internet acquaintances here, all good people I know I can relate to. - I like to see your pics, learn from your stories, and learn how to build selfbows from scratch (thanks, Pearly).

I am not trad bow exclusive by any means as a matter of fact this is the first year in 37 that I haven't killed a deer with a bow yet. the muzzle loader has done it's job.I like the values & the majority of the folks on here

From: GF
Date: 15-Nov-18

So many of the guys here have been so good to me that I don’t know where to even think about starting. My thread on how my Thunderbird turned into a community project hardly scratches the surface.

I’m afraid to name names because I’m sure I’d miss far too many and I’d be mortified if anyone felt slighted. So thank you all, for acts large and small, and for being willing to read what I have to say. Some days, that’s all a guy can ask for anyway.

Lots of great info, its a little wild and wooly (free) - we can get into discussions, agree, disagree, but at the end of the day, wer'e all about trad bows, and learning something from each other in a kind of rough community - I appreciate that. JW

Easy to post or reply. See lots of new folks asking interesting questions who are not intimidated to post. While some questions are often repeated, for me, that's fine, 'cause I can't always remember anyway. Also an easy place to dump some old dog stories about small experiences of the past.

Lots of similar folks with similar interests. When folks show pictures of the food on t heir tables, seasonal photos of their best looking bows or new bows, hunting sites, camps, and game they harvest, then you have folks with the same interest.

Like that the LW allows us to say a prayer for our fellow shooters/hunters. For many of us just starting to get to be geezers, or are just getting old enough to be a geezer in training, it's not unusual for some of us to need a prayer now and then.

Really like the knowledge of the really dedicated members and experiences of our archery leaders who share some of their time on here. If those folks didn't feel comfortable on here they wouldn't post or reply.

From: Ken Williams

^^^^^^

Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya if you don’t like the site :^)

It costs most of us nothing Some of us something A few alot......makes sense to show this last group we appreciate them, especially since they don’t have to do it.

I am fairly sure they are not getting rich from this site.
