So bought a mislabeled JET longbow. Labeled a Warthog which is a string follow bow and this JET is not a string follow model. Just a bit of back set to the limbs. Anyways purchased another JET Dave Wallace Special off the forums here and it is outstanding in every respect but the string is just off a tad on tiller as it aligns to the limbs, which might be a string nock cut just bit shallow on the lower limb.

So I had a question up here on the board about measuring back set and such. Then it dawned on me, why not just compare the shape of each bow to one another, you know hold them side by side and check limb profile against each other. So that is what I did and voila they are identical. Not an iota of difference between the two. So I am assuming the mismarked bow is a indeed a Wallace Special model just 2" longer in length. Does this seem like a reasonable conclusion? thanks for the input

PS I've emailed JET Longbows to no avail.

Shallow string nocks won't change tiller. Right or wrong it was just tillered that way. As long as the string tracks the center of the limb you should be fine.

Tiller is the wrong choice of wording. The string runs off center on the limb slightly. Might be a string not cut deep enough on one side. Bow seems to shoot fine though. thanks

My original post is a bit long winded but in a nutshell the two bows are identical in limb back set and design so I am assuming they are the same bow,ie) Dave Wallace Special

That's a different matter. Either the center line was off or the string nocks are cut wrong.

Ah the handmade variances in bows
