As my thread subject stated; I am curious what are you favorite "D" strung profile 3 piece longbows.
Not 1 pc, not 2pc, but 3 piece longbows. I don't think too many bowyers make this kind of model.

Well, I think Great Plains made one at one time, matter of fact I'm sure of it, but I don't know if their new ones are D profile. I call them hybrids no matter since they are on a recurve riser. I really like the Great Plains that I had back in the 1990's but it got a bit testy for me at 60#.

Grimes made on with an aluminum riser back in the 50's, even a laminated limb model.

You're right, not many bowyers who make a 3pc true D. The two top choices I'd think of would be the Northern Mist Witbeck or Tall Tines Tundra. Northern Mist also makes one thats a bit more of a perfect crescent called the Skanee. He does it on request. Tall Tines also has a more hybrid choice called the Stickflinger, now THAT is something special and my no.1 bow. For a 1pc (or 2pc) true D my absolute favorite is the Mohawk Sparrowhawk.

I owned a Great Plains 3pc longbow over 10 years ago. It was a beautiful tulip wood bow. Kinda sorry I sold it.
I own a Hornes Combo Hunter with 62" longbow limbs. If anyone has another 62" or better yet 64" combo hunter in the 40-50# @28" range let me know :)
I also own a Northern Mist Witbeck that is 66". Great longbow!
I believe the TimberHawk Odyssey has a pretty big recurve type riser. But you are right that Scott say it like a D shape when strung.

Joe, I would look at the Fox "Triple Crown" because it is at or very close to the top in this category.

The Northern Mist Skanee is a D shape when strung. The Pronghorn has a lot more R/D in it. It’s not really a D shape.

Northern Mist Witbeck and Keith Chastain"s are the only ones I have shot both are fine bows, fit and finish is better on the Northern Mist and both will shoot a heavy arrow well.
