Man, I was about to but backed out. Hopefully you used PayPal and NOT paid with friends and family. You can contact PayPal AMD they can intercept pmt or if a USPS money order you can file for postal fraud. You can also file charges for obtaining money under false pretenses. Good luck.

Sorry that you fell victim to one of the many scammers!!
Most guys will start a post in the classified ads making others aware of said scammer. Include their handle and what ever other info that is available from their profile...maybe include a photo and description of the item involved. Also include the tactic used to pull off the scam.
I hope you get your item/$$ returned!!

Follow legal protocol, but be careful what you post here. The rush to judgement has drug many innocent folks through the mud, only to find out that they were not scamming anyone.
Obviously there are many out there who are crooked, and looking to take advantage of folks. Best case scenario is that you get your money/goods back. The best defense is a good offense in the first place, and only deal with those who have a record of being active here on the LW. Pay with Paypal and not as a gift/family and friends category..which doesn't protect you.
Postal money orders are not fail safe unless you have them verified before sending the product. Yes, you can file a mail fraud charge, which is a federal offense, but be prepared for much ado in paperwork and other verification.

PayPal is not a fail safe either. These guys will sell a said bow for several then withdraw the money(s) and delete the PayPal account. Most can't post pics because their in a internet cafe with no saved memory in the computers...

I will probably will not get the money back but I did learn a PayPal lesson. My hope was to get the post off here before others possibly got taken. The email address has already been changed in the post, but its still there. Ive always been a trusting sole in the Trad community, but unfortunately this has forced me to be more conscious and less trusting amongst the brotherhood.

Probably a dead give away is the op's real name is supposedly Jason Aldean - country singer/star's name! And the really bad grammar also. I'da gotten a phone #, address, etc. and had a talk. But sometimes it's just "stuff happens" to the most diligent. Sorry for your loss, hope you can make it right.

Fdp- the two ads are for a Black Widow, PMA X 64” #47@28 and has a contact of BarbaraScott, hope that helps and answers you question.
4nolz@work- the PayPal lesson I learned was never send money for payment via friends to avoid charges to the seller. You automatically give up your rights to dispute. Use the payment for “goods and services” and if necessary work out payment for charges with the seller.

I think the dead giveaway for the ad is Aldean, Jason. I seriously doubt that Jason Aldean would be selling a bow on the Leatherwall. This ad is painted red all over, forget the flags!
