I had a good hunt tonight. Had 4 bucks within bow range but none were on my hit list. They were all too small. Then when I finally got the big one in range I didn't have enough daylight to get it on film. Oh well

Am I the only one left that just hunts deer? It's unreal watching this stuff. Kind of like a train wreck.,I can't stop watching, lol

I never had any problem not watching those shows. The majority of whats on TV disgusts me,thats why I don't own one.

I got to have a TV. How will I keep up with the Kardashians?

Maybe you'll smoke him tomorrow

No TV, No cable/satellite/ Whatever... I'll take my deer as they come. I don't shoot the youngest, but I sure will not pass up an opportunity to put a little extra meat in the freezer (or jar for that matter).

Even the better shows to watch are not great hunting shows. They all suggest naming every buck and only shoot him if you have pictures for the last 3 seasons, AND like the original said, has to be on film...

Doubt I'll ever "film" a hunt.

I couldn't shoot them if I named them. Never would name calves either.>>>----> Ken

don't feel bad hunted 4 evenings so far & 3 out of 4 had deer less than 14 yds & haven't drawn the bow yet. a small forkhorn a big 7 point & a fawn. I'm so thankful to be able to do what I love. life is good

Hmmm, 5 out of 6 nights out, and I've had one big doe in bow range, but when I started to draw, she bolted. I could care less about filming it. I even have the go-pro (but never used it yet). I think I will, maybe my luck will change, since the going thing is filming hunts. Maybe the deer know this and are expecting to be celebrities, and when they see no camera they tell me to take a hike, buddy, you're not shooting at me unless it's on film!

Is it legal to bait with a camera? Instead of super biologic food plots I'm just going grab to by old VCR recorders and set them up in the woods. That should draw them in

Like a lot of guys on this site I quit watching that crap quit a while ago. IMO there are some quality hunting videos available to watch but you have to weed them out. I search the internet when I’m in the mood to watch some hunting footage. Personally I stick to the small groups of guys hunting elk on public land with OTC tags. There are also a few that get some good footage of their public land hunts in northern PA and Ohio, just hunting legal bucks and does with stick bows.

I did the self video thing for a while but never passed a shot because the deer went out of frame...It was there mostly for me to review my shot placement and maybe learn how deer react to bow noise or a particular hit.

With that being said, there are lots of guys out there that love watching that stuff and as long as there are sponsors willing to pay up there will be hunters willing to make a living at making the shows. Gotta make a living somehow.

If you don't smoke that shooter buck, you'll never be a real hunter! BIG BUCK DOWN BABY!! (multiple fist pumps in the air)

If you had a rage broadhead and what you consider a holy grail bow, you could have just held them up and all the bucks would have dropped. You then could walk over grab the biggest racked one and feed the others to critters...at bit of sarcasm.

I hope a kid with a irish spring 45lb pearson bow in a flannel shirt and jeans gets one of the ones you passed, that was me in the 80s. Before all the commercial shows, I watched Chuck Adams just hunt. That is good enough for me. I've seen a lot of guys get fines for just a bit of antler.

Hit list are the ones you have actually shot and killed. The ones that are still walking, are on the: Hope I don't miss list. DANNY

dag gonit fellas to each his own if the guy wants to film killing a big buck that's a tough thing to do give him a break. I'm not a trophy hunter but I admire the conviction of those that do. he said the buck was there but out of camera light so I'm guessing he could have killed it just not on film. that's pretty impressive willpower in my opinion

Hate when that happens. At least you didn't shoot at him and wound or mis him then that could be the agony of defeat. LOL

I'm a meat hunter. that doesn't mean I won't kill a big buck I will & be proud of it but if a fat doe comes by first she's going in the freezer. iv never had exclusive rights to a large enough trac of land to manage a deer herd or the time it would take but if I did it would be interesting to watch the deer grow to old age & I may have a hard time killing them. I'm getting soft in my old age

It's never bad luck when you are seeing deer especially bucks.
