So applying the snake skins looks like it is self explanatory. Do you guys just trim them with a razor blade. What keeps them from lifting or getting chipped up on the edges. Do you need to see them with anything. Thanks in advance.

Trim to suit limbs with a sharp blade - razor, exacto etc. Nothing prevents chipping better than you. I use them as additional protection layer for limbs. If the limbsations get messed up I peel them of and buy others.

A NEW SHARP razorblade. I run the blade down the edge of the limb @ a 45 degree angle. This puts the edge of the sticker barely beyond the edge of the limb. It prevents edge damage to the limbsations.

J.R.

they are pretty stretchy, so I use that to my advantage in getting them on straight.

I start at the limb tip end, and peel them down to the butt end a little at a time, straightening, and smoothing as I go.

Once I get to the butt end, I trim off the excess to the spot where I want them to terminate.

Then I use a box cutter blade (or sometimes my pocket knife if it is good & sharp), and carefully trim them to the shape of the limbs at about a 45 degree angle.

Once I have them trimmed to fit, I blacken the edges with a sharpie, then spray a couple coats of clear satin/flat on them. I like the Krylon indoor/outdoor stuff.

I got them on tonight and they look fantastic. My wife asked me why I wanted my bow to look like a snake. I've done several of the real things snd these look great. I'll never mess with real skins again. Thanks again

So sprayin them won't affect them?

[[[ "So sprayin them won't affect them?" ]]]

The only thing the clear coat has done (that I can tell), is it seals the edges making it all fairly waterproof, gives it some UV protection, and it makes the detail of the print pop a little better.

If it does anything else, I can't tell it.
