I picked up six Easton XX75 Gamegetter II 1816 Lite arrows in a deal. They are cut to 24". It seems like an odd combination to me being so short I'm guessing higher poundage but can't seem to find a good chart. I won't be able to shoot them with them being so short but wondered what poundage they would be good?

I cut 1816's down like that for my younger grandkids to shoot. My wife shoot 26" 1816's out of her 34 pound bow.

At 24" an 1816 is about the same spine as a 2117 in deflection. That's why you got a deal on them. For kids just shooting arrows that's just fine though as it's more important to have them shooting, than having them perfectly matched. Here's a chart that goes to 25" with them and shows you how quickly they stiffen as you shorten them.

It's hard to read but shows .480 at 25". They are 9.3 gpp so they have some mass to them, relatively speaking.

I kept looking and found a chart on 3Rivers. Looks like they would be in the 60-70# range. Looks like the grandkids will be shooting them. LOL

I use the 40 grain glue in target points in them and the Little ones get close to the target. They last bit longer than wood, lol

Used to shoot 26-inch 1816 aluminums with nibs and 3-inch feathers out of a 52-inch 48lb rosewood recurve with a short draw, and wow, they flew so hard they took some getting used to.

I shoot 1816's cut to 28" with 125 grain tips out of 42-47# bows. I draw 27".

I shoot em cut to 29' with 125 up front in my 40lb longbow.

Same arrow I shot from a compound as a kid. That's not short when it's cut close to draw length for a small person. I still shoot the same arrow now but full length from a recurve.

The other option that may work for you...

I've footed various carbons with 2114s and 2117s. I just tested an 1816 inside of a 2114 and there was a little play in there, but you might be able to sleeve about 5"-6" of 2117 over the front end of an 1816 (allowing maybe an inch for overlap).

Yeah, they'd be a little unusual, but if it allowed you to get the use of 'em you might give it a shot... I've got one myself that I shortened after an unfortunate incident with a rock, and I just might keep it for myself, now that I'm thinking about it....

Can anybody tell me if I’m way off base with the idea of using a 2117 extension on a short 1816?
