So, since I have been trying to get this Kodiak Hunter limb issue straightened out, I strung up my Hollenbeck long bow that someone gave to me 15 years ago. I have never been able to shoot it with any consistency. I had always wanted a R/D long bow, and a gentleman was kind enough to send this one to me, the glass on it is not perfect. It draws 55#@27, and is truthfully a bit on the heavy side for me these days, 50#@28 is the upper end. Anyhow, I flung a few arrows from it, and I still just can't get the hang of it. It has a bit of hand shock, but I think it is just that the grip is uncomfortable for me. It is a shame, as I love how light and handy it is, still think about saving for one with a different grip style, and 40#-45#@28". In testing the Kodiak Hunter, it puts the arrows right where I am looking, limbs still have a very slight amount of twist to work out, but I am impressed with how it shoots. I was thinking of passing the Hollenbeck on to a young USAF NCO I work with, but at a 31" draw, I don't think it will work for him, he like I was, wants to give the long bow at try. He is still new to traditional archery, and I owe my renewed passion to him for all of the questions he has thrown my way. I am going to help him pick one out, but pretty sure it will have to be a custom with his draw length. Any chance he damages the Hollenbeck if he shoots it? Sorry for the ramblings.

Pic is KHunter?

What’s the length of the Hollenbeck? I’d think that if it was tillered for 27” draw, it might stack... but even at a steady #3/inch increase, it’d be a real handful to learn with.

Pic is the KHunter, I will snap a picture of the Hollenbeck. I am thinking this is not the bow for him to base his decision off of.
