Wow I was just talking to my Abby today. Its getting near to me, for us as well.

Lord help us to overcome the agony of losing our best friends. help us to look to you to fill the void. You gave us our animals and allowed us to be close to them and then they are gone.

For me I'm to old and health issues to persevere with another dog.

I hope your not and can come to the point of getting another. Sorry for your loss. Lord we ask you to comfort Pete.

About 3 years ago I buried our two family dogs within 6 months of each other...our 14 year old Golden (Destiny) went first and then a few months later?...our 15 year old Shi Tzu (Rascal) passed on.

Digging those holes was soul crushing...these were the dogs my 3 daughters were raised with when right at my darkest moment digging that 2nd hole?...these thoughts crossed my mind....

These fine dogs were never truly mine...they were and are God's and He just blessed my family and I with 15 years of their unconditional love and companionship.

and immediately following ^^THAT THOUGHT^^...I embraced the old cliche...

"Don't cry because it's over...Smile because it happened!"

God has since lent us two rescue dogs...two Curs named Daisy & Coco...two blessings picked up where two blessings left off.

My codolences and I hope my words ease your grieving in some way as I know it hurts.

You can tell yourself not to cry, but it ain't gonna happen. If people were as loving and faithful as dogs...God sent them to us for good reason. Our Rocky, black lab, is thirteen in January and is getting arthritic. Only thing we can do is love them and appreciate the time we have.

From: RonG

As you folks know I just put down two that I rescued when they were puppies and due to dementia and several other things at 15 years, I couldn't possibly go through burying another pal. I had them cremated so they are with me every day on a special memorial in the living room.

So sorry for your loss at this time, but be grateful he was there for you through 8.5 years and remember what he could have gone through if you had not rescued him. I know words don't help that much during these times, but we are with you my friend knowing what it is like.

Great looking pup! A year after I lost my best friend, we got a new pup and they are the best therapy of all. This was taken when she was 10 months old now she is a year. Nightly WWF wrestling and a bond like no other.

PECO, It breaks my heart to hear of your loss. Why a dog doesn’t get to live so long, but still has to die old is a heart wrenching question. You, your family and your beloved Best Friend are in our thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you and continue to richly bless you and yours. MTQuiver

PECO, Sorry for your loss of an awesome dog that I am sure appreciated being rescued to a good life. I share my life with a 10+ year old Siberian Husky that I also saved from a bad home when he was 3 months old. He is my fishing companion when I go to the mountains fly fishing for wild Brook Trout. I am not looking forward to the day when I have to let him pass on.

From: PECO
Date: 12-Dec-19

So this pup needed a new home. The couple are very young, and have a 13 month old kid. It just was not working out. The pup was treated well but the young couple lived in an apartment and wanted the pup to be with someone who had the time and space the pup needs. The couple did the right thing by finding a good home for the pup, and not just pawning it off to the highest bidder.

From: RymanCat
Date: 12-Dec-19

That's a gorgeous dog Pete best of luck with the new dog. I finally got my setter and I call her devil dog. Her name is Bandit though.

What energy this dog has half the size of my last setter and my last one had drive but this one she could make it to Mars I think.

After a month with her I'm just now starting to get her settled down a little but not without tremendous work with her and 2 collars on her a bark collar and a training collar I switch up.

Only way I can get her to obey and settle down.

Nothing like a dog though. Thank God for our dogs.

Good bad or indifferent truly mans best friend.
