September 20, 2005 Rev Stacy Groscup passed away at the age of 84. What a special man. The world Lost a great man and a fantastic archer. I’ve long said of all of us exhibition shooters- past, present (including Bear, Hill, etc) and all those currently shooting- none have had the accuracy or consistency of Stacy.

A tv show captured him hitting 7 aspirin tablets in a row- a national tv show called “That’s Incredible” in the 1980’s. Stacy was in his 60’s at the time. Seven hits in a row without a miss. That record still stands. He was amazing on and off the stage. He was like Jesus, he went around doing good things and he always saw the best in everyone.

I miss him. I’ve done countless threads on him. I miss you Stacy. Sti-Ute my fine friend.

He was the 49th Inductee into the Archery Hall of Fame. I certainly am proud to be his protege’.

He was everything you said and more. He was also a common man who would talk to and listen to an average person.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Groscup perform at Denton Hill. A truly talented and wonderful man.

It's been 13 years? I never had the pleasure to meet him. Really hate this.

Seems like yesterday, the sun was shining with glorious cumulus clouds, behind the clubhouse at Denton Hill. Stacy had just finished an exhibition. He was surrounded by young children, some of them my own. They were staring at his Zipper takedown bow, as if it was different from all the rest. More inspiring then his shooting was his approachable demeanor with everyone. He was truly a great example of the best of us. TLM

1st time I saw Stacey was at Frederick fairgrounds in Maryland. I had my son's with me,he did amazing accurate shooting that day. The next year he was at the Fairgrounds again, he spoke to myself and my son's. He remembered us from the year before, he May not have remembered our names he greeted us like we were long time friends. From the crowd's reaction to his shooting he was a crowd pleaser.
