I just acquired two bows from a fellow waller-thanks Ed "Songdog". One of the bows is a Darton Classic SL 60" 46# numbered 63C2240. What year was this bow made? It has two different riser woods (methinks bubinga and shedua) and a very small grip. For those wondering what the other bow is- Wing Red Wing Hunter 58" 48# RA11933

You really need photos since serial numbers on most bows don't tell us year of manufacture. The Darton website has a list of old catalogs that will help somewhat, but they are missing some years. The Red Wing Hunter if it doesn't say Head Ski or AMF, is pre 1968, but you can't do this without photos.

1964 or 65 was the first year for the Darton Classic. They don't have a copy of the 64 catalog, but here's a link to the 65 that shows it. They made it for many years though so you kind of have to sift through what catalogs they have.

Thanks George for the info on the catalogs. I found the available ones on Darton's website. It's a bummer more catalogs aren't available to look at. The earliest I can find the model I have is a 1974. Possibly mine is a 1973? Trying to post pics just doesn't work otherwise I would.

By the way my Wing does have Head Ski underneath the Wing Archery logo on the lower limb.

Kelly Peterson is the Wing expert, but I think AMF bought Head Ski/Wing in 1969 so that would give you some idea of the age of yours.

The RWH is 1968 or early 1969
