Are Static Recurve nocks slippery when using a conventional stringer ? Block ? Double pocket? The tips look very steep and as they don’t mellow out under pressure what are the challenges risks involved. A couple years ago I had a Hill bow snap back due to a Shallow pocket slippumg off. Woke me up. The block type stringer worked well for me with my Jet now but the Hill bow limbs are too skinny. Talked to Craig Rki and he admitted the same frustration. Step tru works for me on that bow. Thanks.

got a sheepeater static. it don't like the block, especialy unstringing.. 2 pockets for me. im a cluts! stringing and unstringing is a hairy chore :) like the bow, but I do this stuff for fun... no more statics for me. many have no problem at all. if you are interested in one don't be swayed by my uncorednatedness.....or spelling...ron

I have 2 Caribow Tuktu EX recurves. I have not had a problem with either of my bows. However I am very careful when stringing. Be safe.

I think Thunderhorn is the best all around stringer ever made. The leather boot on the bottom limb gets very tight as you apply pressure and holds the bottom limbs string tightly in place allowing you not to worry if it gets of center and out of the string grooves on recurves.Ingenious really.I am talking about the string grooves the string lays in on recurves on belly of limb. Not the string notches at the tip overlays.Thats its advantage over the Selway. They are the same other than that important feature.

It will string a narrow limb Hill style as well if you just center it and hold it in place as you apply pressure and start to pull (straight up)!!!.Just be careful and pay attention. No big deal really

I have used it on Borders which are very radical and also Salukis which are radical and every other kind of recurve made including statics and never had a problem.Like the guy mentioned above hold the block in place when you start to apply pressure and it will hold in place no problem.Pull straight up strongly and symmetrically till you fasten top loop and let down slowly into top string groove and check as you let pressure off that its in the top string groove .If not pull stringer up and center string again.I have never twisted a limb using it and just being careful in the process.
