What would be a good general purpose small game head

My favorite is probably a Ace Hex-Head. Running a close second would be a homemade stumpin-small game head, which is a field point with a wing nut behind it. I weigh out the field point/wing nut in varying sizes to get the combined weight I am looking for.

Ace Hex blunt is what I use, better than a judo as far as I'm concerned

Me too Bob. I love my Zwickey Delta broadheads but never been a judo head fan. I seem to break too many of the spring-arms off.

I agree with the Ace Hex. Also would recommend Hammer points that 3River sells. If you shoot these in long grass you can back them up with a Muzzy Grasshopper. Little disk with spring arms that can be added behind the blunt. Makes them very hard to lose. I'll include a photo of a grasshopper behind an Ace Hex.

"They are called Nutters"

I sure am glad Jsog posted about them when he did cause most folks had forgotten about them.

I like judo points

Agree with Shawn. Judos or wing nuts are not great options for rabbits in thick cover. Hex blunts are my favorite, but sometimes I'll flatten and deeply score the nose on a heavy fieldtip. Adders behind a fieldtip seem to get through the brush pretty good too.

I tie a string on my hexheads and judo’s and wrap it around the shaft and tie it up a few inches. When i miss-grin, a lot- and Nevada rocks break the shaft, that$4 point is still on it>. Then there is my key “broadheads”. Just take an old key, cut a slot in the shaft, put an aluminum sleeve on the shaft , put in the key, glue it and sleeve . Let it dry and then grin a singles bevel on it until it trues ups and spins true. Rabbbits hate those things

No contest small game thumpers are the best. Hex heads are great for pushing through thick grass but just don't pack the same whollop as a small game thumper.

Another vote for Ace Hex Heads.

I have seen people put an external tooth lock washer behind a field point too.

I modified some old broadheads to make some rabbit heads. Designed to hang up in the rabbit while it bleeds out.

red feather talons look wicked G5 SGH (only available in screw in) is also a nice one

But a lot is what you are going after (the G5 wont work well for bunnies in brush) But bunnies are not as tough as squirrels (glue a grenade on the end for squirrels)

two things you want in a small game head 1. blunt force trauma 2. Some type if cutting edge

Ive seen squirrels take a broadhead in the chest and run up a tree

Small games the best!

The best small game head ever made is the free hi-presicion three blade.

I'm with DarrinG, field point with wing nut.

Another Ace Hex vote.

All I use for small game are Magnus small game heads. Basically a steel blunt with a Magnus bleeder blade inserted. Blunt force trauma and hemorrhage combined puts squirrel n dumplins on the table.
